Capriotti's Sandwich Shop — Restaurant in California

This is by far the BEST sandwich shop we have ever eaten at and it has quickly become a weekly stop for us. They have AMAZING food and the owner has such compassion & human kindness! ❤️

Our very first time ordering from this restaurant, there was a mistake on our order (It happens!) and tomatoes were accidentally put on a sandwich I had ordered, but due to a food allergy, I was unable to eat the WORK OF ART that was delivered sadly. 😔 The kicker was… our entire family had just been diagnosed with COVID 🤒 and we were all under quarantine. 😷

So, the owner indicated that he would refund my order and simply have me re-order the food through Door Dash again. Easy-peasy - right, but it was to close to closing hours and I could no longer order through Doordash. After calling Capriotti’s back, the OWNER, Damien, personally got in his car and delivered our food for us! 😮 Who even has that kind of compassion these days? It seems like COVID has brought the worst out of a lot of people, but not Capriotti’s! The owner felt so bad for the mix up and even included a little treat! 🤤

I’m telling you… if you would like an AMAZING deli sandwich, there is no other place on earth! They were so good that, while we were still on quarantine, our daughter turned 15-years-old and she decided she wanted (what we have affectionately dubbed as Capp’s) for lunch on her birthday.

So, I called just to remind them about the “no tomatoes” thing, and they remembered me. 😊 They treated us like family and even included a little Happy Birthday note and a Brownie for Bella’s birthday! 🥳

I wish i had gone in person to accurately review this place but i'm so enraged by my order that this review would help other's refrain from buying from fast-food chains once again. I didn't expect much considering that I doordashed the order and is from a fastfood chain but i thought what my significant other had to say about it was worth a try. I ordered a chocolate chip cookie and a grilled italian with grilled mushrooms added. When I opened the bag, there was no chocolate chip cookie nor a properly made sandwich. Almost embarassing when you look at the picture. The tomato was lazily placed on the side of the sandwhich rather than inside, the meat was just scraps of ham, and i had a giant piece of brown lettuce (which i hope i dont end up in the hospital from food poisoning). You know, it's one thing to miss something on an order and maybe they were busy, i get it because ive worked multiple jobs at sandwhich shops and deli's in highschool. However, the order i received is embarassing and shows that the people making this do not care. Now i know to refrain from this...

Worst sandwich I ever had. I ordered a 18" "Natorious" sized "Waygu Beef CheeseStake". 1. It was Not American Waygu meat at all. I got a classic CheeseStake which tastes like over cooked "Stake-ums". 2. It was way over grilled/cooked 3. Even though it was a large sandwich it was over all a very cheap tasting for the price point & chock full of indigestion/bubble guts. (I got a stomach of iron) Been all around the world totaling 42 countries - worst sandwich (human food) I ever had. I do not recommend the Waygu! This shop will have to start using "actual Waygu meat" or claim it's marketing gimmick. I also went around closing time and I just feel they slacked off and gave me anything to full...
