Erik's DeliCafe of Aptos — Restaurant in California

Very upset - DO NOT order online using the eriksdelicafe.com link. We have been ordering here instead of using Door Dash because we want to support the local store. We thought we were supporting the local franchise owner. Today, our order was WRONG - it was dripping Chinese food and 25% in value/size vs. what we ordered from Erik's (we almost thought to just accept the mistake and eat the Chinese food).

When I called the # on the receipt, which is Erik's Aptos location, and explained the situation, the person on the food was adamant they do not do delivery service, and obviously, they don't sell Chinese food, so I must have ordered from Door Dash. I. DID. NOT!!!

I ordered directly on the eriksdelicafe.com site. It's even linked on the Yelp page here.

It turns out Erik's uses some service called Olo. But there is no way to contact Olo as a consumer and request a refund. The receipt actually says call the original store and has the store's number. We did, and were told we were crazy. Even the Olo help pages said to contact the original store. It makes no sense if this was a Door Dash service that they would make the consumer call the store. Olo is a third-party service, but it's licensed by Erik's and Erik's is responsible for the screwed up door.

I've been tipping well each time we've ordered thinking it was an Erik's employee. I'd ask for a refund, but there's nowhere to ask for it. They better not spit in my food next time when I...

I love Erik's but maybe now NOT this location. It's Monday, no one was in there. I ask asked for a Pot of Tomato soup and a charlie cheese pocket. The guy asked, half or full cheese pocket, I said half because wasn't super hungry. He asked, if it was for me, I said yes. He said he can't sell me the cheese pocket because it's a kids meal and I'm not 12 and under. Really?!?! I replied, so you are not willing to sell me the cheese pocket? He replied no, not if it's for you. I replied, so you will let me walk out the door because you won't sell me the cheese pocket? He said yes! So, I did just that, I walked out, NEVER to return. Business owners, when someone wants to give you their money make it easy for them to do so! I'm sure the owner of this store will be upset about missing sales on a slow night, those $20...

If I could I would give 10 stars. I eat here at least once a month and the staff at the Aptos location are BEYOND friendly. They are so happy and welcoming!! The sandwiches are consistently fresh and tasty. They don’t charge extra for sprouts OR avocado (in fact they comes default on a lot of the sandwiches!)

Honestly I wish it took them longer than the less than 5 minutes it usually takes to make the sandwich. It would give me more time to look at all the local historical images on the walls. Super fun to see the history of the area before taking your food out to the lovely outdoor seating.
