I've eaten here a few times, whenever I am visiting Crescent City. Right now they are still observing covid precautions, so you can only get it via drive up / carryout. You don't even have to go inside. Just view the menu, call them and order, and someone comes out and gets your money. They bring the order out as soon as it is ready. Oddly, the guy who waited on me was not wearing a mask. I don't really see the point of having pick up only and servers not wearing a mask... On this visit I ordered shrimp broccoli from the specials menu. Specials are just a little smaller and cheaper, and he said on the phone it had less shrimp. My meal, however, had plenty of shrimp and tasted fine. The brown sauce is very good. I took off a point because the menu is not very vegetarian friendly. They offer tofu but it cost $2 extra. I wish more Asian restaurants would start offering tofu as an alternative protein in their dishes, like many vegetarian places do. It would also be nice to have more gluten-free options. They only have one dish with rice noodles instead of wheat. I did want to add, however, that the owner is very nice and the service here is very good. It's apparent they care about their customers and making them happy, and that is always a very nice thing in this day and age. If you are in the Crescent City area, this is really the best and only Asian place to eat. The other places I've tried were...

My husband and I have been customers here, at least once a month, since we were in high school...20 years ago...ugh, we're getting old. Anyways, Far East is the only Chinese food in the area, as stated by other reviewers, but it is excellent food with the best service! The family that opened the restaurant sold to their nephew a few years ago, instead of closing when they wanted tot retire. Thank goodness! This is absolutely not to detract from anyone, but the already excellent food got even better with the change of hands! My kids will not eat any other crab puffs, the rice is always super fresh with plenty of veggies, and their mongolian beef, chop suey and sweet and sour are so good! Portions are always generous too. They are take out only now. I think they discovered that model worked well for them during 2020, and just stuck with it. Also, remember if you love egg foo yung as much as we do, they don't make it after 4pm. So glad to have this...

Worst public service I've had at a restaurant. When we arrived we seated ourselves. We ended up doing the buffet that had a whole 6 items to choose from. The server never asked what we wanted to drink and just brought us 2 waters. She had asked others what they wanted to drink after they were seated. Once we had our food we never saw her again which I needed more water but never got. After we finished eating we walked to the counter because she never brought us a check so we could leave and she was just standing Behind the counter looking at us while talking extremely loud in the phone. I gave her my card and she took it behind the wall to run it for the charges while still on the phone. I will never stop at this place again and I'm sure you'll regret if you...

Today we ordered the 3 dish chicken.. sesame chicken, sweet and sour and sezchuan chicken and it all tastes the same and was burnt through and when we bit a piece apart there was NO chicken. Plus we waited over 35 minutes for the food to go. We are pretty disappointed and want a refund. We returned the next day and spoke to the owner, who apologized. He gave us a complimentary replacement meal. It was much better the 2nd time.

Wow! Amazing food! I lived in China for three years and am have high standards for Chinese food, but I was impressed. We stopped here three years ago on a road trip and went out of our way to stop again on our latest coastal trip because we have been dreaming about their Kung Pao chicken for three years! Generous portions - one dish can feed two adults if you're not starving.
