went here for date night with my wife. i drive past here often and always was looking to try it. food definitely did not disappoint. i ordered a california burrito and my wife got a bean and cheese burrito. first thing i did notice when i stepped it was the restaurant was huge and fit the vibe. prices were okay, pretty normal nowadays for mexican. the service was not all that great, i typically don't care too much about service as long as the food is good. the guy taking my order just kinda seemed to be over it, which i understand, and just was listening to music. 7/10, he did his job so again the service isn't too concerning for me. when we got the food i noticed both of our burritos were huge which i loved because that means i get all 14 dollars worth of one burrito. and the best part, they throw in a free bag of chips with every order. those chips were good, very addicting and they were fresh. the salsa that they offer, a basic red and green, was VERY good especially the green salsa. better than at most places i have and went great on my burrito. and the burrito itself was very very very good. hands down one of the best california burritos i have had in a while. i swear the burrito was at least 6 inches long. my wife loved her bean and cheese burrito very much as well. it's kind of hard to mess up one of those, but she said it was a very flavorful burrito. i would recommend it to anyone in the area looking for some mexican, not burro and fries and not cotija's, la casita's mexican is the place to go. i was very pleased and will be back next time...
Read moreOverall, I'd say this place is just okay. First impressions: parking setup is odd, the big menus in the front are ridiculous (they're huge, there's 2 of them and they have a bunch of price changes that were hand changed), it was very clean but completly empty and the prices seem fair. I walked in and wasn't greeted, browsed the menu and ordered a chimichanga. I ordered "for here" and received chips and 2 small cups for salsa. They really need bigger cups, or more of them because it seems like this is just begging for cross contamination between costumers. I easy surprised the Pico had more kick than the mild red sauce. Anyway, I received my food rather quickly, thanked him and again got no response. The portion was a good size and I like that they topped it with cheese and guac (most places charge extra). I'm just not sure if this is a taco shop or sit down place. They give you chips but very little salsa. And they charge for refills...long story short, it was okay but...
Read moresadly, i leave this review. my husband is from florida and his favorite mexican food restaurant after coming here, was la cassita. there were times we would drive that hour just to have la cassita because of how far we lived.
that said... we returned last weekend since we were in town, hubby excited and planning to visit both days we were visiting. the first night they messed up my order, but not too terribly. a minor inconvenience. but the next day, they seemed to not care. we placed a fairly expensive order, with specific instructions for most of our food. we should have checked it, but instead made the long drive back to LA. three of the 5 burritos were made wrong 😐 my husband was so excited, but couldn't eat his food. he was also pretty disappointed that the pollo recipe seems to have changed (not as flavorful, all garlic).
i sincerely hope we don't stop coming here, but that's how he was left feeling: that might be...
