I recently purchased a plate of rolled tacos from Mi Ranchito Taco Shop, and the experience was both disappointing and concerning. After just one bite, my wife immediately noticed that the sour cream was rancid. The meat inside the rolled tacos had an unmistakable spoiled taste, suggesting it was either expired or improperly stored. Additionally, the toppings included chopped jalapeños that were not listed, and the cheese was visibly stale and hardened.
While the meal was inexpensive at around seven dollars, the real issue is food safety. Serving spoiled ingredients poses a serious health risk to customers. I had no choice but to throw the food away to prevent my wife from getting sick.
It’s such a shame because Mi Ranchito Taco Shop used to have great food. I’m not sure what happened—perhaps there was a change in ownership or management—but the quality has clearly declined. I strongly urge them to take food safety and quality control more seriously. Until then, I cannot recommend...
Read moreMi Ranchito of Ramona used to be reasonably priced, but now they are charging premium prices for low to mid Mexican food that falls short of every other Mexican restaurant in Ramona. I can say that quality hasn't changed much, but its all processed food and they maybe have a few items worth calling authentic, otherwise its basically a fast food restaurant one notch above Del Taco. Would eat here often because they had good pricing, but now everything is between 30% more in just the last few months. I literally watched a breakfast burrito go from $6 last year to $15 this year. Maybe hiring 2-3 extra people to stand behind the counter was a bad idea also - the short chubby girl is rude, you can barely hear the other new girl in the intercom, the only half decent customer oriented person is the young kid. Was an avid customer over the last 20 years but man are they in decline. Spend your money elsewhere, this place...
Read moreI've been going for many years. It's hit and miss on consistancy. The portions have gotten smaller over the years while the prices have gone up quite a bit. You have to specify on the kind of guacamole you want, or you'll just get the green gringo mayo kind. The food is generally what you'd expect at a Mexican drive through. It's good. Just not of good value. They also charge to use a debit card. Just little irritational things that bug me when my wife and I drive through there. The drinks are not free refills, so if your staying for dinner, expect to pay a little more for extra fluids if your wanting a refill. Beer is available, but again. Expensive. Napkins are scarce as well. So expect that little bit of irritation as well, or expect to have to ask for...
