October 20,2021. Lunch Just had lunch here. The taco salads were very good, flour tortilla bowl was fresh and crispy. It was bountiful. I couldn't finish it. Lots of beef, my friend had lots of chicken. Both meats were flavorful. Beans were not the main ingredient. Topped with a generous portion of sour cream, guacamole and shredded cheese.
The Tampiqueño carne asada plate was bountiful but the meat was thin and a bit dry.
MY COMPLAINT has to do with new pricing, which I understand. HOWEVER, pricing on large menu outside restaurant and menus given are NOT CLEAR OR TRANSPARENT. OLD PRICES REMAIN. A YELLOW POST IT NOTE SAID "PRICE CHANGE". NO OTHER INFORMATION WAS PROVIDED. SERVER DIDN'T STATE NEW PRICES. NO WHERE ARE NEW PRICES STATED. ALSO, WHEN ASKED IF WE WANTED CHIPS AND SALSA, WE WERE NOT TOLD THERE WAS NOW ALMOST A $3.00 CHARGE FOR THESE.
Everything has higher than listed prices. Carne asada plate was $6.00 more from $15.99 on menu to $21.99 on check. Taco bowls were $10.99 on menu but $12.99 for chicken and $13.49 for beef ON CHECK. Iced tea was also more expensive.
I understand restaurants need to increase prices for food and employees. This is the only place I have eaten at that does not let you know ACTUAL prices BEFORE YOU RECEIVE THE CHECK.
I recommend the manager type up new prices on an 8 x 11 letter paper sheet listing new pricing:. E.G. SALSA AND CHIPS ARE NOT COMPLIMENTARY:. $2.95 PER ORDER. LISTING NEW food prices ON FOOD AND BEVERAGES. Save it on Word for future changes. Attach it to each menu. YOUR CUSTOMERS DESERVE CLEARLY STATED PRICE CHANGES
I ENJOYED FOOD. GOOD SERVICE. UNHAPPY WITH LACK OF PRICING INFORMATION! 3 STARS GIVEN BECAUSE OF THIS...
Read moreThis place can best be described as a "taco shop" wrapped in the comforts and service of a sit down restaurant with real plates and silverware.
I recently had their Chilaquiles for breakfast, it was excellent! Fried corn tortilla pieces mixed with shredded chicken & eggs, smothered with house enchilada sauce & cheese. It was such a huge serving. I was filled for the rest of the day...
Machaca plate is also very good. Shredded beef mixed with eggs, bell peppers and onions. Served with a side of rice, beans and hot tortillas. The beef itself was fairly bland. I've had some machacas that light up most of my GI tract. This one not so much. It sat fairly well.
"Supreme Burrito" is a monster for only $6.99! Made with your choice of chicken or beef, filled with rice, beans, cheese, guac, sour cream, lettuce, kitchen sink, etc. This football sized burrito is then liberally blanketed with a flavorful chile relleno type sauce. The shredded beef was tender (albeit bland); everything else was well proportioned and tasty. Tortilla warm, soft and supple. Such an amazing value to get this huge burrito plate at an affordable price. I literally felt like laying down after eating this.
Cheese enchiladas here, not that great. Held a conservative amount of an unknown cheese with an unappealing taste. I've had some exceptional cheese enchiladas in the day and this one didn't come close unfortunately. The beef enchilada on the other hand was very good. Filled with a generous amount of shredded beef mixed with a few peppers/onions. Sauce was dark and rich looking although had very little discernible flavor. The cheese enchilada did begin weeping a small pool of grease...
Read moreFirst time there. Have heard good things about it and decided it was time to try it. There were 4 of us in my party. No reservation was needed. Arrived around 2PM for a late lunch after doing a wine tasting 3 miles up the road. It was clean inside with booths in the front and some tables in the rear. Nothing really fancy but it was comfortable. We were seated right away, and the server came right over to ask what we would like to drink. She was very polite. We all ordered water, and she was back with it in a minute. The menu is very large with a really good selection to choose from. Lots of seafood dishes along with beef and chicken. I ordered the 3 meat fajitas and almost fell out of my seat when it was delivered. The serving size was the biggest I have seen on a fajitas plate. The sides were good proportion as well. One of other folks ordered fish tacos and the portion was large. They had the breaded fish and said it was great. The other two ordered enchiladas plates, which were also great. I am definitely going to come here again. There are so many things on the menu that I would like to try. I wish I had taken some photos to post but will do that on the next visit. Really good...
