We've been extremely skeptical of going back to Vibes/Tuna Shack after the many times I have been there in the past, with not so great experiences... But, today was the day that we decided to check it out again!
Thank you Bassam Mike for a great dining experience! Seriously, it's so nice to see an owner working with his staff, talking to customers, and ensuring that everyone had what they wanted and needed in a timely manner!
The sushi was delicious, came out within 15-20min (4 rolls were ordered, plus an additional specialty roll for free for Sushi Tuesday!) My biggest issue has always been the amount of time it took to get food to the table... Last time it was an hour and 20min! The place was not busy at all. This time, they really prioritized their dine-in customers as well as having an additional sushi chef for the busier times.
I highly recommend coming back and giving them another chance, if you've been skeptical like I was! 😁 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This was my previous review from May 2022- Having been through three different owners, in the same location, I wanted to give Vibes (and the new owners a try). Our server was fantastic! She was on it, and super sweet.
Sushi was good quality, as it always has been... BUT, the wait times are ridiculous, STILL. We waited an hour to get our first roll, the table next to us got there after us and was served 3 rolls before we got one. They stated the delay was due to all of the take out orders, but having been a patron since 2015, I can say that it has always been slow as molasses in winter! That part has not changed one bit.
Also noticed that the server (who was alone that night) had to turn off the "OPEN" sign at 8pm, despite not actually closing until 9pm, because she knew if anyone else came in they wouldn't be served in time.
Will be back, because the sushi is good and it beats driving down the hill, but must bring your...

I didn't care if they priced me the same if I removed one ingredient. Just let the chef know...that shouldn't be too difficult? Waiter referred to their own menu a lot when taking order. The salmon teriyaki was pretty good. Portions were all small. We left somewhat full, but def didn't expect a quick meal to turn into an hour and a half meal.
Thought we'd give them a 2nd chance since we love sushi and wanted to support local business. Service was again, extremely slow. Waited over half an hour to get one dish. Sushi rice was too mushy and sour, I didn't even want to finish it. Sashimi was tiny. Again, can't customize an order without them trying to figure out what other menu item is comparable to the price. This time we got the beef teriyaki. There was barely any beef and if we found one, they were tiny bite sized beef. May as well have been a veggie entree. Each dish we ordered literally took 10 to 15 minutes to get.
My 2nd experience was so bad I would have walked out if I didn't have two hungry toddlers with me. My husband and I both agreed, we won't be coming back again. Would have taken pictures, but presentation of the dishes wasn't worthy of one.

If I ever could give the award for the worst sushi ever... hands down.. this restaurant would earn it!
…Spoiled, Fishy taste…and befuddled composition..solid pass … I think I’ll have toast for dinner.
Needlessly someone will say this is the only time you’ve eaten here. To them, I would say….and the last.
Further, The reviews on this sushi’s restaurant are at best factitious and at worst are, the word that rhymes with cow-sht. . I would not have written the review, had I only received substandard food and subpar service only, however this business felt the need to charge an exorbitant amount for what was, axiomatically, below the standard of service and food an average person would expect, thus demanding the consumer respond to what will be a eventuality closed restaurant …..
And when then are.. ultimately closed for good…this consumer just might go to a reputable sushi restaurant -Beni Hanas. And there I just might pay an exorbitant amount for, quality sushi, which I will take to go.
Why take it to go? Well, I would like to take it and eat here, at Vibe Sushi in Ramona, so for once, this location will taste like the exorbitant amount they charge.
