Paula's — Restaurant in California

I see many bad comments about this restaurant, and it seems that people forget to have empathy with others around them, because I see many people complaining that dogs are not allowed inside the restaurant but they forget that is why there are tables outside so that you can sit with your pets, and I find it disrespectful that they get angry since they ignore the fact that the restaurant is very small and not everyone can be close to the animals because of allergies. Also, since I am a frequent customer, I can let you know that the owner of the restaurant is not a bad person, maybe he has a way of being a bit rude but in my opinion it is understandable since he is trying to keep his restaurant afloat by working every day. being an elderly person

Lastly, I hope that all those people who have the energy and time to write such bad and cruel comments have had the decency to leave a tip, because in case you didn't know, I'm going to educate you a little, the people who work in restaurants they normally earn less than the minimum and their salary is supplemented by tips, and well logically it is difficult to give good service when customers are rude and do not give tips without counting the fact that in this specific restaurant all the cleaning and preparation of Food as well as washing the dishes falls on the young woman who is at the bar taking orders and on the older man, meaning that the two of them are doing the job of at least 5 people to the best of their ability. I think because of COVID, diners should look at Paula's again. Granted, their Basic Breakfast has gone up a bit, but what restaurant hasn't raised their prices these days (I cant believe I am paying $20 a dish for Chinese food!)? I have been walking to here for 25 years. As a neighbor, I have always appreciated this little slice of surfer solitude. Decorated with surfboards, photos of old time surfers, old surfer posters, playing Beach Boys music, it has always been so cute! THE FOOD TASTES GREAT! The pancakes are the best I have had in SCZ. With a generous slab of butter. Eggs & bacon are cooked just right. Everyone is very respectful of others. After you dine, push your chair back in, and bus your dirty dishes and silverware to the area next to the refrigerator. There is a very nice patio dining area, or the kids love to dine in the VW Bus opposite the front door. This charming spot is unique! The breakfast is cheap and you get what you would if you had some good home cooked meals. Reminds me of my grandma's house on visiting in the morning! However, the guy who took our order was rather short with us with snappy remarks. We felt unwelcomed and like a burden. We were about to just leave the place after that.
