Yup, taking a stand on principle alone. I was doing some research on why Pizza Hut is now adding a new fee on top of sales taxes and delivery fees called a (Doing business in California fee) which I discovered after placing an order online and noticing that the total due was above my tabulation including the sales tax of 10.5%. Now the stories that came from a Google search indicated that PH have been charging the fee since 2021, which is approximately the same amount of time passed since I last ordered a pizza from them. PH is good, but they're not so good as to think they can swindle another 10% off a loyal customer base without repercussion. I usually buy my pizza from Uptown Pizza on greenleaf ave, but occasionally I go outside the comfort zone. Uptown is good quality pizza and you get 8 slices and lotsa cheese on the small size equal in weight, whereas PH gives you 8 slices on a large with mediocre cheese and the prices between the two are similar ...minus a stinking business fee ! This is not a plug for Uptown. I'm just pointing out there are other places to eat pizza that aren't run by a conglomerate which finds new ways on ripping people off. BTW, the research indicated that the extra business fee was being tacked on for pizza DELIVERIES only, (total + tax @10.5% + drivers fee + business fee) but what I found from initially placing then quickly cancelling my online order and after me choosing to personally pick-up the pizza at the local PH ...that they were adding the extra business fee even as you're taking the time and wasting your gas to drive over there and pick it up yourself. No thank you PH , keep your pizza ! Update4/20/24 Okay, so I looked again at ordering from PH. Now I see that corporate wants you to tip the employees too for them doing their jobs. I'm talking about carry out service here, no delivery. This isn't quite concierge service you know. Neither is it in any way a personal experience. This isn't fine dining at all. It's a pizza FCOL, and considering that California minimum wage has gone up to $20 hourly, and for the brief 2 minutes of interaction between customer and employee, then I consider the $20 per hour is enough to forget about tipping. Dont forget about the false TV advertising for 1 LG specialty pizza for $12, then you go online just to check the authenticity, and find they reduced the size to a medium for $12, even while at this instance im watching their TV commercial again offering a large any way you want it pizza for $12. Talk about bait and switch. Like I said, I like PH, only not THAT much. You have failed me again PH. Now where did I put the Uptown Pizza number. Oh, and...
Read moreWe decidee to order pizza from Pizza Hut. We usually order from Stufft Pizza but they recently closed. When my mother decided she did not want to cook and eat out we opted for pizza for the convinience of delivery and past expriences that we have had. However, this time was diffrent. Since we wanted delivery, I quickly got on my mobile device and went to Pizza Hut . Com and placed and order for a hand tossed supreme pizza large for 17.99. We were charged tax.. cool.. a 4.99 delivery fee that does not go to the driver as the disclaimer says... okay small fee for convinience, we were also charged a service fee which appears to be a percentage of what you ordered and it is also a new california thing.. I nearly racked up close to 30 dollars for ordering from mobile device. I was outraged. I called the number... the first time I called I was on hold for 5 minutes... I was in shock and it almost lead me to believe that a simple phone call to order pizza won't suffice anymore. I was not going to give up and called again, after a brief hold I finally got through someone. She asked " carry out or delivery?" I wanted to know if I ordered from her now delivery will I still get charged a delivery fee... she said " yes ." I told her I will do carry out for the same hand tossed large supreme pizza.. she then said my total was 13.99 and not 17.99... I was perplexed.. but I went to pick up the pizza... we live lieterally 2 minutes away which is why I was also doing the most. When I got there sure enough it was a large supreme pizza for 13.99. When I read the receit there was a carry out coupon applied, the service fee for California was also significantlly less since the total for my food was much less... herby the percentage is less. I was just in shock how choosing to use my mobile device (which cuts the coorporation labor costs because their phones are not flooded with phone calls) would have cost me much more. I still give it 2 stars because to get through the phone to Pizza Hut took 2 phone calls, additonally the price of the pizza costs diffrent... lastly the crust of the pizza was not what...
Read moreI will say 0 stars for everything because I bought a pizza 2 weeks ago. I ordered a stuffed crust chicken pizza and wings. Obviously I expected stuffed crust but apparently they ran out and they made me a nasty pizza however they want it. Pizza was full of bacon, it was not stuffed and the wings taste nasty. I paid 37 dollars and it wasn't even what I want it. When I called Brian manager stated he asked the one who prepare the pizza and he said they didn't have any stuffed crust so he apologize and said they will refund me back my money after 3-5 days is been 3 weeks and no refund. I called back on Monday and I supposedly spoke to the GM- Jose and he asked for my number and said my number does not come up on there system I told him how is that if I had spoken to Brian on Sunday night and he found me on their system. He even asked me to call Monday after 4pm because I'm was going to be there. Then to top it off he made it seemed like if I was lying to him. He asked me to call back on Tuesday after 4pm because he needs to speak to Brian about it because he was not aware of this. At this point is pointless for me to call back and forward instead of asking for my number and calling me back he want it me to call him back. I haven't called back and I am not going to call. They can keep the 37 dollars I will just not go back and order from them. I wished I should of taken the pizza back this past Sunday because I still had it in my fridge...
