By far one of the worse purchasing experiences, I’ve ever encountered. I was in the market for 10oz gloves and I thought Fight Shop would be a great place to visit but was I proven wrong When I arrived at the shop Lucrecia greeted me with a wonderful smile and asked what I was looking for. I requested 8oz-10oz gloves. Lucrecia responded by showing me 16oz and 12 oz saying I should buy those instead. I declined and thanked her for the suggestion, but I was only looking for 10oz or 8oz and would like to see what Fight shop had in stock. Again, Lucrecia went back to suggesting a higher weighed glove. At this point I was surprised and little confused about why she kept on going back to these higher weight gloves. After a few more exchanges back and forth, she again suggested the 12oz or 16oz gloves again. At this point I had to dramatically slow down the conversation and say very slowly exactly what I was in the market for and if I could just see a few options. She finally got the point but only showed me one glove that was 10oz as they hand no 8oz. I found she lacked a lot of product knowledge and offered no other solutions. This was not the ideal experience I was expecting at a place like this, but I decided to purchase the 10oz gloves anyway. This was my first time at the shop and Lucrecia never mentioned the return policy. I went about my day.
The same day about three hours later I found a better deal for 10oz gloves and purchased them. This meant I was going to return my original purchase to Fight Shop. When I returned and explained how I was on a budget and found a pair of gloves for half the price, Lucrecia said she would not be able to give me my money back. She only offered store credit. This was odd considering I never opened or used the gloves, and the purchase was completed only 3 hours earlier. She explained it’s the store policy. I asked if she could make an exception and she said no. I then said this has not been the best experience and I think I will write a review about it. This is when Lucrecia seemed concerned and asked me to wait while she called her manager. She called her manager and then talked for a few minutes with him on the phone in the back of the store. When she came out from the back, she placed the phone in front of me and put speaker mode. At this point, the manager began to insult me and asked what my issue was. When I tried to explain the situation, he cut me off and continued to insult me and then over the phone request I get the F^$&% out the store. I asked Lucrecia how your manager talks to customers and why did she called him and get me on the phone if he was going to rude the entire time and not listen to any thing I had to say. This guy literally lost his cool over a $75 purchase. What business does this?
At the end Fight shop refused to take back a purchase. They tried to upsell me on a product I wasn’t looking for, the heavier gloves seemed to cost more, and I might have been overcharged. I did find a similar pair for half price. I would suggest staying away from this shop. Managers unprofessional, rude, and has no consideration...
Read moreWhen I walked in, the guy who seemed to be running the store was on the phone with a friend and it took him about 10 minutes to even aknowlege I was there. He had some nice gear but I was mainly in there for some heavybag boxing gloves but the ones he had were overpriced, not to mention he had very limited selection on name brands. I was expecting some kind of deal for the boxing gloves he did have but not even any price tags on anything. If you don't know anything about boxing and it was your first time buying gloves you would probably get ripped off because he had a lot of no name gear that I'm sure With regular use wouldn't last longer then a month. he had some skinny kid working for him that wasn't even doing anything but walking around even though the place was a mess with random gear stacked in piles in certain areas. I came in just to see what the prices were like and as soon as he realized that, he just walked away and I told him he had a lot of stuff, and then asked where he came from and if he had a store before somewhere else and he replied, "From Japan" and him and that kid started laughing. So I just left the store. Now I know why no...
Read moreAmerican made products and locally run by real people who care. I was looking to get a punching bag for my home and wanted to support a small business and find something that was Made in the USA, I came across the FIGHT SHOP online and was pleased with the selection of american made PROLAST items and decided to purchase a heavy bag and a set of puzzle mats. Unfortunately in my zeal to order I didn't realize I had ordered a youth-size bag instead of an adult one. But, never fear, Dan noticed this and called me to confirm and after discussing what I needed/wanted adjusted my order to ensure I got exactly what I needed. None of these massive online retailers can offer that kind of service, I can't express how delighted I am I chose to go this route as I would have been incredibly disappointed to not find this out until it showed up at my house. It was worth the price, including the shipping as it had to be sent cross-country via frieght. I highly recommend the FIGHT SHOP to anyone in the market for training, MMA, boxing gear--high quality product and high quality customer service. Thanks Dan and the rest of the team!...
