This is my husband’s go to home style Mexican food place. For decades. I have been happy with it until yesterday. I ordered dinner 27 with green chili enchiladas with sour cream. I ordered on the phone as usual at 11:51 a.m. When my husband went in to pick up order. The cashier said sorry we made red enchiladas do you want to ask your wife if she wants them or we will make the green for you. Thus my husband asks if I take the Red. Unfortunately I have very bad food allergies and Red was not going to work. So they very professionally remade the food ,we thought. I made sure my husband left a tip. To show good will. The cashier jokingly said “I hope it doesn’t happen again!” We drove off to eat at a local park. Looking forward to a food breakfast and a funny anecdote. Sadly as we opened the breakfast I was so very let down. No green chili enchiladas but Ranchera sauce on the enchiladas. Again I wanted to believe they were green. But tomato in sauce is to obvious and not green chili. After my husband ate I returned to the restaurant and as kind as possible I showed the cashier the plate. He explained to me it says green chili on number 27 but the sauce is ranchera sauce. It’s a mistake that but that is sauce used. He still had the red chili enchiladas at the counter and said I could take those. I explained this is not possible. He said I’m sorry the only thing that can be done is return your money. So for the benefit of future complaints please change number 27 to say Ranchera sauce. Since that is the information these poor employees are stuck with. Of train your employees to use green chili sauce! An...
Read moreOur first time there. When we walked in there was nobody at the entrance, so we sat down. The young man approached the counter and looked at us and said loudly, “come order first!” No good morning, or such thing. Ok… we got up and went to order. I ordered red chilaquiles (sauce tasted from a can, and the rice was hard, maybe reheated from yesterday or day before?) and he asked me how I wanted my eggs and said sunny side up. My husband ordered green chile and eggs, but he didn’t ask him about the eggs. My husband doesn’t like sunny side up at all. He assumed all eggs would be the same, sunny side up, and I didn’t realize it until the order was served. The extra tortillas took 5 minutes after the food was served and my husband had to get up to get them, so service is lacking. The place is small, but busy, so one waitress is not enough. She has to take care of tables and take out orders. The establishment needs maintenance and upkeep. The decor is outdated. Parking spaces are small...
Read moreFood was mediocre, not much to rant and rave about. I got the carne asada super burrito and to be brutally honest, the inside was just mushy, no texture difference between the beans or meat. I didn’t finish my burrito even though I was starving. My husband got the chicken burrito and the chicken had no flavoured, the chicken seemed boiled. We did ask for pico de gallo and that helped tons to bring some crunch, texture and flavor to the food.
The service however was amazing. The guys was really nice and helpful. He brought out chips and salsas for us.
Sadly I also have to note, to top everything off, later that evening I had TERRIBLE gas and tummy aches for the rest of the night.
For being Southern California and getting this level of mediocre Mexican food, we were very disappointed. We had high hopes for the place, especially because the name says “Super Burrito”, the burrito was not super. Unfortunately we will not...
