Just happened to Google “Fish & Chips near me” and found Ray’s Chicken and Fish!! Let me start off with that you could smell the good food being cooked from the outside of the restaurant! I had cod and catfish. Both were fresh and flaky, full of down home your Momma just made you some flavor. I tell ya that it was so delicious that I enjoyed them both without ANY sauce, salt or pepper ( no lie). The fries didn’t need any ketchup and were hot and crispy. So crispy that when your teeth cut them you could hear the crunch. I had a hand squeezed lemonade that was very refreshing and paired perfectly with the fish.
The menu is extensive with lobster, wings, chicken, waffles ( that you can get with chicken or fish…. can you believe that!?!) Sides include okra, collard greens, zucchini fries, oysters and more. Don’t get me started on the choices of desserts! I’m gonna leave it up to you to check out the menu online.
But another great thing about Ray’s Chicken and Fish is the people that work there. I met Ishmael, who is a fine example of a human being who was very friendly and courteous from the second we walked through the door. He and my buddy that was with me just happened to go to the same high school. Then I had to compliment the chef and met the man himself, Ray. Very nice man, down to earth and a proud business owner. I’m a fish and chips fanatic. I know what’s good and what’s not. Check out Ray’s Chicken and Fish. You won’t be sorry (...

Read moreOne of my clients gave me the flyer to this place specifically for Gizzards! Yum 😋 During work...I couldn't get back to office to eat so I order some wings. I'm in a hurry so end up calling as I drive. 10 wings and it comes with fries. The lady says whole wings. Uh yeah, I guess I'm thinking 🤔 as I hang up...whole wing opposed to cut up or partial wing...oh who cares I'm hungry. 😅 I get there and 35 dollars later, I have to ask about whole wing. I also grabbed a piece of red velvet cake from the refrigerator case. The lady laughed and we got a giggle out of it, but yes, it's the whole wing and they're a bit big. It's okay. I'll eat em over the weekend 😋 Now she asked if I wanted sauce...of course I do. All of them to try since I've never been there. She gives me 4 tiny sauces one of which is ketchup for fries....NO napkins and or fork?? What the devil 😈 😳 I didn't see the utensils in the small little office either so that's why eating my lunch in the park was a little difficult 😳 Oh well live and learn aye? It wasn't that busy 😕 and she surely she have my back at least for the first time round. Ugg. Now I know how to order and will try it again. Btw... red velvet cake was not very good and dried out meaning it was old cake more than...
