AWFUL!!!
I have ordered from the Round Table on Laguna Boulevard twice a month since September 2013. My past three experiences have been beyond awful.
March 27, 2014 I placed an online order for a skinny crust pepperoni and a pan crust pepperoni to be delivered. The pizzas were delivered, only to discover that we received two skinny crust pizzas, not a skinny crust and a pan crust. I thought this was a one time, bad experience, since we had had such good luck with this restaurant in the past. Boy, was I wrong!!
April 9, 2014 I placed an online order and paid online. My order was delivered and the delivery driver scanned my card with a handheld reader, and asked me if I wanted to include a tip. I told him that I had included the tip when I paid for the order online. He had no idea that I had already paid for my order, and my card ended up being charged twice. This second charge was reversed when the delivery driver called it in to a manager.
April 18, 2014 After having my card charged double charged the week before, I decided to call my order in this time. I called and placed my order for a skinny crust pepperoni and a pan crust pepperoni. The call was made at 6:17 pm. I was told that my order would be delivered in approximately 45 minutes. At 7:20 pm, the delivery driver arrived. He brought out his handheld reader, and scanned my card. The machine did not respond. He scanned the card again, and again no response. I asked him if he could call the store, and they could charge my card over the phone. He told me that the machine wasn't working, and that he needed to make a call and ask what he should do. He came back about 10 minutes later, and told me that my area was a low signal area, and he could try one more time. He tried to scan my card again, and once again the machine didn't respond. He then stated that he didn't know what to do. He said MAYBE he could he come back with a different reader later. I told him to forget it, as it was already over an hour since I placed my order, and I didn't want to wait another hour. He took the pizzas and left. This was now over an hour and 15 minutes since I placed my order. I immediately called the store, and asked to speak to a manager. I was transferred to someone who did not identify themselves. I asked the employee for their name and if they were a manager. He stated his name was Travis, and he was an assistant manager. I explained what happened tonight, and the bad experience I had had last week. He told me that he MIGHT be able to call the driver and have him bring the pizzas back, and he could try charging my card over the phone. I told him not to bother, as it had already been well over an hour since my order was placed, and there was no guaranty that he could even reach the driver to have him return. He expressed zero concern over the situation, and did not apologize.
I am appalled at the way I was treated by the employees of this store. Not once did any of them apologize, or seek to remedy the situation. A simple solution would have been for the delivery driver to call the store, and charge my card. Another solution would have been for Travis to apologize, charge my card over the phone, and send someone back immediately with my pizzas, or new ones. Instead, the driver left with my pizzas, the assistant manager was rude, and Round Table lost a...
Read moreTerrible experience, came to this location to pick up pizzas that I ordered online. When I arrived , I gave my name and order and the gal at the front said “your order isn’t ready yet” me “ok” - I stand to the side to let others step up to the counter and pay and/or pick up orders. A few orders go out the gal again looks at me and says. “Still waiting on your order. After about 15 minutes, I started to become a bit impatient, I knew that when I ordered online it said my order will be ready in 20 minutes, so I arrived at the store in 15 minutes . A gentleman from the back steps around and says something to the cashier to which she audibly gasped. She continued to move around and help people coming in one after the other. Finally, I was informed that they were out “skins” of course I have no idea what she’s talking about apparently skins is what they call “made dough” they had run out of dough and informed me that my pizza had not in fact even placed in the oven yet it would be ready In 10-15 minutes. The most disturbing part was that there were several people coming in that that the store had run out of dough. My question and several others question was why are online orders still being taken ? These people are going to continue to show up, hoping to pick up food that they have already paid for, and to make matters worse. This is the night before Thanksgiving. So as you can imagine, many are not cooking dinner. I was finally informed my pizza was ready, it was undercooked, and you would think they would possibly offer a free salad or cookie , but nope!!! I feel really terrible for the people that showed up after me. This round table is terrible. The restaurant is in disrepair. It could use a good cleaning and only one door to enter. The employees seem unappreciated and well, lack genuine customer service training. I would certainly blame this on the store...
Read moreEdit 10/9/22 They've been doing a lot better since my first review. I started writing "please don't forget ranch and soda" in the notes section and that seems to do the trick. I still have issues sometimes with bread sticks being a bit underdone. Overall if I could give a 4.5 I would, but 5 will have to do. They are always very pleasant and nice.
I had a great experience in the past. I have almost never had an issue until recently. In the last 2ish months almost every single time I've gotten delivery they have forgotten something, missed something, or there was a problem with the food. They've forgotten my soda, forgotten my ranch, and once it took almost 1 hour 20minutes for delivery and my garlic twists were almost raw and looked a mess. I tip minimum $4-5 bucks on a $20 order every time. I started putting a reminder for my soda in the notes section, then they forgot my ranch. I hate complaining, they offered to give me my order for free for not bringing my soda, but I don't want a free order. I just want my order to be correct the first time.
I tip decent, I like the food. I get it, short staffed, pandemic, difficult to find help but what else can I do? I don't even want anything for free... Honestly, I'd tip even more if I knew I'd get my order correct, but I'm not even sure that would work. It's just frustrating. I'd rather not have to go anywhere else, I wish they'd just get it...
