Mr. Cane Sugarcane Juicery & Acai Bar — Restaurant in Elk Grove

I love sugarcane juice and I was ecstatic to have one open so close to me. My first few visits were great and I recommended it to a ton of friends. However, there has been a penny pincher lady that works here (likely the manager) who has really soured the experience for my friends and I over several visits and I will no longer be a patron or recommend this place.

1. Charging us extra ON TOP OF THE SURCHARGE for filling to the top AFTER we have already paid. We didn't want the ice, and bought several drinks where we topped out each one for $3 each?. We gave a generous tip, and then after we paid, the manager went up to the clerk, whispered in their ears, then ushered us over to pay an additional $1 per drink. Fine, but it's penny pinching and makes the place look cheap instead of owning up to their own mistake.

I’m super excited to have Vita Cane in Elk Grove. If you want to show kids how to make sugar cane juice then best place to visit and grab a drink. This place is new, clean, you can create your own açaí bowl, they have cute and shiny sitting benches and beautiful wall paintings. Service was little slow and I could see customers getting frustrated. One of them left the store without getting any item. Bathroom has cute designs on the wall. I love it.

Let’s move on to drinks. I ordered strawberry peach drink. It was fruity and tasted good but it had too much ice. Next time, I’ll ask for less ice. It was $7. Some might say super expensive for their budget. The drink was nice and refreshing. I would totally recommend on hot weather like today.

I am a smoothie/açaí bowl connoisseur and Jamba just doesn’t cut it anymore. I saw on their menu that they have a build your own açaí bowl. They have a 12 oz. option and a 16 oz. option. I went with the larger one, which is a decent size AND you get unlimited toppings. I love their different base choices for the açaí bowls, they are all tasty and you can sample before to get a feel for what you like. You can also layer on different base flavors which makes it fun!
