My wife and I went to our favorite haunt this morning, Thursday July 14, 2022. We were surprised to find it so empty but soon found out why. It was nice to see that they had redone the booths and tables. We were a bit disappointed to find that they no longer serve the zucchini scramble. My wife was really looking forward to it. She settled on the french toast and I got the pesto omelette. Our first cup of coffee was disappointingly old but they made a fresh pot for our second cup. The french toast had no flavor except for the powdered sugar and seemed as though they had soaked the bread in the egg wash yet failed to thoroughly cook it. The toast pieces were slimy in the center. My hash browns seemed as though they had cooked it the day before, froze it and reheated it on the skillet. The outsides were crispy but the insides were potatoes mush with no form. The pesto omelette, which I had enjoyed in the past, had WAY TOO MUCH pesto which drowned any other flavors that might have been present. Their house made zucchini muffins weren't up to par either. We left 3/4 of our meals. To be fair, the orange juice was still great. We wouldn't have minded the $37.00 ticket if the meals had been what they used to be. We are sorry to say that after 10+ years of patronage, we won"t be back. Too...
Read moreUse to be really excited about coming here. For 10 years, portions were great, Lynn was so personable, and food tasted yummy. Unfortunately, the service has gone downhill. You have to ask for every little thing and they forget to add certain exchanges to your food. And to my knowledge, exchanging meat out of food for a vegetable doesn't mean that you're getting a deal? Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't meat still more expensive everyone? I literally only took a few bites after they took the food that I had , said they'd make it right, and rather than remaking it (which I told them to please not just take my food back and melt cheese on it) that's exactly what they did anyway. They brought out my already served food with cheese just sauteed in. Sheesh, sadly, $22 for a small coffee and an incorrect, small, tasteless order, I won't be returning. Save your money. There are better breakfast places in Santa Cruz. Try Linda's Seabreeze and Zachary's. You can...
