Subway has really gone down hill and that makes me sad. Tried a different location in hopes of finding a decent sub with soft bread. First thing when I walk in I smiled at the young man behind the counter and said "hi, how are you?" trying to be friendly and courteous, he says nothing in reply.
I then told him what I wanted and the first thing I said was I wanted two subs with the softest white bread you have, all the while smiling and trying to be as kind as possible. I tell him what kind of subs and after he gets the bread out, I tell him what kind I want. He says nothing, just starts cutting the bread and then asks me what kind of subs I want as though I had not already told him.
So, he starts on the first one, then an older man comes in and gets the other roll and starts making my other sandwich. When I go to check out, the older man tells me to "be careful" of what my fingers touch on the credit card keypad as the first thing they ask is how much of a tip I want to leave and then he says, of course you don't have to leave a tip, but this young man would certainly appreciate it".
To myself I said I bet he would appreciate it, appreciate it for being so rude, not listening to what I asked for, I don't tip when I'm picking up a sandwich at the counter anyway and I would certainly not do so for someone who looked like he would rather be anywhere else but there.
When I got home, sure enough, the bread was HARD on both subs. I really don't know how hard it is for people to bake the bread the correct way and not burn it or overbake it or whatever the issue is but no matter which Subway I go to, it's the same issue, no matter what time of day, no matter who makes it, Subway has an issue with their bread. If the bread it bad, it ruins the entire sandwich.
Plus can they not find any decent employees? I know that not all are rude like the one I got, but the majority seem to wish they were somewhere else rather than at work. We have all felt that way, but Subway must be treating their people badly because the turnover is huge and when you always get new employees that seem to have never made a sandwich in their entire lives. Did all these employees have their mom's make their sandwiches for them even as a teenager and older? I mean, come on folks, making a sandwich is not that hard, I could do it when I was a little kid, it's not...
Read moreI don’t typically leave reviews but I feel like I need to say something so maybe it can be addressed with the staff at this location. I have had several not so pleasant experiences here, but nothing like today. Me and my family stopped in and ordered inside. There was a young girl checking customers out at the cash register who had a major attitude problem. I am not sure what had happened before we got there, but I can’t come up with reason for her to be so ugly to people that are just trying to pay for their food. I had to order drinks with our food and for some reason it triggered her. She rolled her eyes at me and snapped at me. I am in customer service role as well with my job and I would never snap at someone for no reason. I understand customers can be hard to deal with sometimes and it’s frustrating, but to take it out on someone else is never a good thing. My entire perception has changed at this location now. The food was okay… but they did give me the wrong sauce. (which is fine, I didn’t say anything about it because I am not a usual complainer) but all in all I probably won’t be back. It was the last straw for us. I hope they can improve in the future and speak to their employees about how to interact with the customers regardless of how they feel. Attitude...
Read moreWent in placed my order everything was a fine. About an hour after I get home I realize one of my earrings is missing. These earrings are special and belonged to my Granny. I call the restaurant to see if anyone had found it. The person picked up the phone, said nothing and set it down. I could hear him moving around. After a few minutes I hung up and called back only to realize the phone likely had a cradle and was not put back. I kept trying every few minutes or so thinking the employee would eventually realize and put it back. I called 16 times in one hour which is a bit excessive I know, but again these earrings are special. The phone line kept saying it was busy the entire time. Thankfully as I'm getting ready to leave to head back, my husband finds the earring next to the car tire, so crisis averted and gas saved.
I understand it can get busy, I work customer service as well, but being busy is not an excuse to keep the phone off the cradle for over an hour. What if it was another store trying to call? Or another employee? Or literally anyone else that had a different/worse problem than mine?
Please don't write up this employee, but use it as a teaching opportunity on how to...
