Birrieria Loreto — Restaurant in Calumet Township

The best way to start your morning is by having Tacos for Breakfast and the tacos I just had, hit the right spot that i was craving. As I was driving through Blue Island, i asked my friend if he could recommend me a good place to eat tacos and he said that there were no place like that in BI but i didn't gave up in my search for good tacos. Minutes later he texted me by delivering some good news with a location, he said and i quote, "You should try this place out is the best so far". Birrieria Loreto Zacatecas located in Blue Island is one of those places you will miss if you are not looking specially because is right next to other food establishments. I came in early in the morning, so i can have the freshness of everything. I was able to sit down right away and i was greeted by the friendly staff. I place my usual order when it comes to new restaurants. I got myself two steak tacos with everything and a glass bottle of a really cold Mexican Coke. They brought to my table green and red salsa and some chips to start my meal, but once my tacos arrived it was just perfection. Each taco came with two tortillas and a perfectly amount of meat with the perfect ratio of cilantro and onions. Everything came together once i added the salsa. Overall, everything was amazing from the price to the meal. My journey continues looking for the best tacos around the city and the tacos from Birrieria Loreto Zacatecas...

My African-American friend traveled from Chicago to try the birria tacos after reading the reviews about it on Groupon. He purchased the Groupon and visited the location on a Sunday afternoon when gas is $6 a gallon for premium grade. When he entered he said everyone was looking at him weirdly. He walked to the counter and said to the cashier that he had a Groupon he wanted to use. The cashier said "they no longer accept Groupons". He left the restaurant disappointed and confused. The Groupon is not expired so why didn't they accept it? I would hate to think it was racism involved but I really don't understand why they do...

Came here during lunch for the quessabirria tacos. Trust me, you won't be disappointed.

The most authentic tasting Birria hands down. Full of flavor and not greasy.

I ordered the 3 quessabirria tacos for $15. It comes with a medium-sized consume. Everything was very delicious. The flavors were very unique and the texture was on point.

I liked the sauces that it came with, too. My favorite was the red salsa.
