BevMo! — Restaurant in Camarillo

Went into BevMo on 3/28 around 1430-1500 PST with my girlfriend. There, we asked for three bottles of Soju which being locked behind a case needed to be walked by the attendant back to the register where I then went to make my purchase. I then asked my gf to get a couple of sodas from the Coke refrigerator which she brought over to be rung up. The attendant then asked for my ID but also said she needs to she my girlfriends also. When I asked why she needed to she her ID she said, "It's because she touched something in the store... Since she touched the sodas, I need to see her ID."

As we were walking out of the store a man and his son (11-12 yo) were coming in. So if the boy gets a candy or a soda from the fridge, will she need his ID also?

It's either the attendant in question was being rude, or this is a really bad store policy. Avoid...

Update: 12/31/21 extremely disappointed in the customer service. I have been shopping at this location for years now and I've seen their employee roster change countless time. Something that has remained consistent has been the customer service until now. An employee by the name of Elaine was incredibly unpleasant. From the moment I walked in and the lack of a simple greeting to waiting at the counter for a good couple of minutes before she acknowledged me. Not to mention the attitude in her voice as I was trying to make small talk. After she informed me she was incredibly busy I understood I was being a burden to her. Prices, bevmo isn't very competitive, if I really want to save and have a bigger selection I can just drive to total in t.o. Definitely last time I will be...

BevMo! Camarillo is a good store. Good variety of wine, fun specialty sodas, spirits and craft beer. Always fun to look through their selection and find new things to try. Purchased quite a few tasty 5 cent wines (basically a BOGO deal), and really good whiskeys from them. They don't really carry liquor store beer, but then again you can get that stuff anywhere like the grocery store. They stay pretty busy and staff have good recommendations on different kinds of drinks. Helpful (and busy) staff overall.
