I finally caught this food cart open! I have been waiting over a year since first hearing this was opening. It is a frustrating and tiring experience to go to a restaurant with allergies, let alone celiac.
Here, I could have anything on the menu!!! My other half and I got onion rings, strawberry lemonades, 10 chicken nuggets with fries (it's seriously a lot of fries), and 2 chicken strips with a side of mac and cheese.
This was a LOT of food. I swear there were a lb of fries in that clamshell. My husband can eat, and even he had to stop.
The Mac sauce is thick and cheesy. The pasta is cooked perfectly. The nuggets are well seasoned, and as someone who is not a fan of ground chicken , I still think they are the best I have ever had. The 2 strips were huge and juicy. They had parsley and other seasonings in the batter. I was informed they batter them right there in the food cart when ordered.
The onion rings are also hand battered and seasoned with herbs. There are a variety of sauces to choose from.
The lemonades had real chunks of strawberry and were delicious.
There were some items unavailable, such as the steak sandwich and another large meal. They are working some kinks out and growing pains with the menu.
I think the demand for this type of dedicated food is there and we need more of it. Many items are also dairy and egg free, though not all. All in all, I am thrilled we finally got to try them. We will be back. I took some pics but forgot the lemonade until it was gone....which...
Read moreSo happy to finally have a dedicated gluten free option on this side of the river. If you have celiac, it’s worth making the trip. It’s about 30 min drive coming from the other side of town, but we’ll make our way over there occasionally.
Fries are crispy and have a delicious seasoning. They may be too salty if you’re not a salt fan, consider asking for less or no seasoning if you prefer less salty fries.
Onion rings were amazing. The ratio of batter to onion was perfect and the onions were soft enough you can take a bite without the whole thing falling apart.
Chicken strips were hearty and not too dry. The breading could use some flavor, but dips help with that.
Thursday $5 deals are a great option, especially with kids.
The condiment containers could be filled a bit more, the 2 we got were barely half full and they’re tiny to begin with. Also, having allergen indicators on your dips would be really helpful. There seemed to be some confusion about dairy in the fry sauce. It was super cold and rainy, so having to wait longer to go over what dips were dairy free wasn’t fun.
I imagine parking is going to be hard once it’s get nice out. We went on a rainy cold Thursday evening around 6 and the lot was nearly full. I’m not sure if there’s neighborhood parking nearby, but I foresee parking being an issue in the warmer months.
Overall, it was great. We’ll be back and happy to support this food truck! Can’t wait to try...
Read moreFirst time visiting and unfortunately they were out of quite a few items. Onion rings being one of them!!😥 but the chicken strips were decent. Would have liked more sauce or the tenders to be brined/marinated. But not bad. Service was pleasant but staff were not updated on menu, so items I wanted to possibly order, they were unfamiliar with the product. But honestly as someone who has to be GF, is always eating menu items that are naturally GF (becuz no real selection), is tired of not having access to items that are fried food fare. GF People miss things like bread, onion rings, jalapeño poppers, calamari, sweet potato fries, deep fried ice cream that is DF AND SF, Corn dogs, waffles, elephant ears, etc. That is the dream, with dipping sauces and good seasoning. GF people will pay to enjoy those types of delectable delicacies! GF Steak sandwich was cut from the menu, but if it was Philly cheese steak sandwich using alternative cheese, yes please! Or ham and DF Cheese Croissant 😍😍😍 But just putting it out there the possibility of Serving things that people miss eating, and posting that on GF forums wow! (Find me gf free) etc. To gain traction , or post on socials a survey. There is so much potential to step up your game and bring the good stuff. You have a great start 👍 👏 keep going!😀 I want to come back...
