From 10/02/2024 to 10/12/2024, my children and I visited the Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Marina - Ala Moana hotel, located at 2005 Kalia Road, Honolulu. I purchased a flight + accommodation package for 10 days to celebrate my son's birthday. He really wanted such a gift for his birthday and was waiting for this day! We purchased a package especially for such an event!!! The holiday and our long-awaited vacation, for which our whole family saved money, was ruined! The children were already waiting to go home the next day! The hotel did not inform us about many major shortcomings and changes in the accommodation of guests.. such as striking staff (insanely loud screams of strikers, not allowing to sleep and rest in the room), lack of cleaning in the room, hotel, lack of hygiene products in the room, lack of disinfection! In my room 1655 on the 16th floor, for 10 days of stay, they did not clean, did not change towels, bed linen, did not replenish shampoo, gel, conditioner, soap, when we called the maid and asked to change the towels, we were told that we will bring you 1 time, but next time you will need to go up to the 19th floor yourself and change the towels (thank you for not making us wash them). The maids brought and threw clean towels under the door onto the dirty floor in the corridor, where people walk and the floors are dirty, that is, the hotel has long forgotten about covid, there are no precautions against the disease at all! How can you throw towels on a dirty floor??? We took out the trash ourselves, no one washed the floors in the room for 10 days, we washed them ourselves! We bought all the cleaning products at our own expense! In general, the hotel is dirty, the room is dirty, there is no disinfection in the hotel! We came to relax, but our morning began at 6-6.30, because strikers were constantly walking under the hotel and shouting into a loudspeaker! It was terrible! We did not sleep either in the morning or in the evening! Earplugs did not cope with this!!! Just a nightmare! The hotel refused compensation or even an apology! Neither the hotel nor the booking service solved the problem! We will...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreNew food court opportunity in East Vancouver / Camas area. The variety of options is wicked cool - hibachi to Korean to Mediterranean to American and anything in between.
We tried the Mediterranean and Sushi carts, plus of course the tap room. The tap room had a decent offering and spanned beer-cider-wine-kombucha on tap. We tried a couple of beers and a cider. Next time we will be trying new options including the kombucha!
As for food - the hobby went to the wasabi sushi cart. He got a crunch salmon tuna poke and loved it. It was like a rice wrapped burrito. It was tasty and good to the last grain!
I opted for the Mediterranean (shawarma) cart. I got the falafel wrap no sauce and two sides - more falafel and hummus with pita. The wrap was hot and filled with pickled veggies, hummus and falafel. It was super flavorful, crunchy / crispy and a delight to eat. The side of hummus was DELICIOUS! They added a touch of olive oil to top and I think smoked paprika. It was rich and creamy and blended just right for us! The side of falafel was good but a tad on the salty side for my tastes.
Andy finally my vegan heart was appeased by the options at ice cream renaissance! Their grasshopper vegan cream was crunchy from the mint cookie and the flavor was bright and while not overpowering. A delight for sure.
Recommend coming out to try it - maybe a bit earlier than dinner time on a weekend S the crowds were pretty...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreItās a neat concept and nicely done. Food quality and service varies. Smash Burger has the most consistently high quality food and service but when schools out the number of teens lining up for burgers can mean a long wait to order, and then another long one to complete your order. Thatās what happens when you serve good tasty food! Other places not so good. I just got a āNew York Stir Fryā or something like that at the place located next to the ice cream vendor. It was horribly tough with way too much gristle. I couldnāt choke it down, it was so bad. Two thirds went into the trash. When they say New York it implies a NY strip, which is a good cut of meat. This was not a NYstrip, or if it was then it was the toughest Iād ever seen. Overcooking it didnāt help. Then thereās the Mexican food place a couple spots up or so. Advertises keto tacos. Very expensive for a miniature sized taco but tasted great. Been back five times over the last month, always not available but they never put up a note saying that theyāre out. Big waste of time to wait in line only to find out that the one thing I can eat off their menu isnāt available. Hello, be courteous to customers. Donāt rudely waste their time then try to sell them something else that...
