I had three tacos, tinga de pollo, birria, and villamelón. The food itself wasn't too bad. The birria tasted like pot roast, I wouldn't have that again, and the pollo wasn't anything great. The villamelón was the best of the three. It was all super greasy, except the pollo, which was pretty dry. If I try it again, and get the villamelón tacos. I don't leave a lot of reviews, but the woman working the afternoon of 5/24 had a major attitude. My buzzer went off, when I got to the window, someone else was handing them her buzzer. They had ordered it to go, and it was on a plate. She tossed it to the side, and said I'll box it up for you. I handed her my buzzer and she handed me a bow. When I said, no that's not mine I had 3 tacos. She set it down, and was like, ok what was your number. Hmmm I don't know, I handed you the buzzer already, I had three tacos, and as I started to state what they were she interrupted me, and said you don't know if you were number 6? No, I don't, I already handed you my buzzer. Frustrated, she's looking through the receipt tickets to let's, and asks me what my order was. So again, 3 tacos, pollo, birria and one other that I don't remember the name. As I couldn't remember villamelón at the moment. She goes oh, well I got confused with the notes on the ticket. (Mind you she is the one that took the order) And there shouldn't be any notes, other than she asked if it was for here or to go. Which I said for here, and it was in a to go container, which to me no big deal. I opened the container, out of precaution to make sure my order was in there. Which it was. No salsas, so I asked if they had any salsas. Almost annoyed, she says what? I asked again, and she annoyingly rolls her eyes and turns around to get the salsas. One, that should be an automatic offer when you're handing the customer the food. Especially with tacos. It was quite rude and I would give some slack, but it appears they've been open a while and in reading the reviews they clearly have some things to work out. Better customer service for starters.
Food was decent enough, but don't expect the best in...
Read moreWe went with the Birria fries and visited on 2/22/25 the food was lacking flavor BAD and the food at bottom of this dish was soaking wet from some liquid and made everything super soggy? I encouraged my fiance to go back and mention his food but he ended up just tossing it and we went somewhere else. I wouldn’t recommend this place at all. When I tell you there was a puddle of liquid in the fries & I’m not sure how because there was little to no flavor. We were both kind of shocked.. (I wish I would have taken a photo to show how soggy and wet they were after just a couple bites) I share food and reviews on social media for work & I decided to just skip taking my time to make a video and leave a review here for anyone else to be aware of. Would not recommend sadly. which is such a bummer because we love the location and their menu sounds so good. I hope they can take feedback...
Read moreAh Caray! is a quality food cart that's committed to excellence. The ingredients are fresh and the tacos don't look slammed together. I had three: carnitas, beef birria and villamelon (asada steak). The clear winner was the villamelon. It had more flavor and great texture. UPDATE: I had the Villamelon again. I didn't care for it this time. Being $4 each I figured they'd be a good size, but they're very small. Price is the one drawback of Ah Caray! They are the most expensive tacos I've had from a truck. I'm thinking a burrito might be a better value. Check out my profile for more great eateries and craft cocktail bars....
