I was really excited to get a coffee the other morning and walked to the window and noticed the employee was not wearing a mask. Needless to say I was very disappointed. I asked why no mask...she stated due to medical reasons she is not wearing one. Then why is she working there? I highly doubt the she has a medical reason because she was so young, and when I asked her she kind of stumbled and then blurted that out. Why is she face-to-face with the customers if she can't wear a mask. This place is so small and the potential of spreading something to customers and employees is so high. I don't get it. We all want to get through this, but so many of us do not want to sacrifice anything. The ones not wanting to sacrifice believe they know more than the experts. That is why it is out of control with no end in sight. The brew pub right down the street just got their first confirmed case of covid and it was from an employee.
I will not be back to Hidden River Roasters and I do not recommend that others go to this establishment until they do the right things...meaning all employees wear masks. If they are unable to wear a mask...they do not work there. Be smart and considerate of others. Just sell us your products and do not give us anything else that we are not expecting. Lets get through...
Read moreI loved this place. Favorite local coffee house that I walk to everyday I walk my dog. Never had a bad experience here. Coffee's great, atmosphere wonderful, etc.. etc... Why 3 â ?
Because it was just explained to me politely, with an ear-to-ear grin, that my dog was no longer welcome on the expansive wrap-around covered porch outside. Despite the spring drizzly weather. Despite the sign next to me, on the door, expressing how much they LOVE dogs, but please request we keep them outside. Now I am asked to go sit on the COLD, WET picnic bench around the corner. Also it is explained to me wide smile that they request I leave my dog hitched to the ONE new silver ring they installed in this area. What if there's another dog there? What if I'm not comfortable leaving my fur-baby around the outside of their business while I support their business, almost daily? Maybe it's because I'm not one of their local elite? Well, it seems, according to the ' 'friendly' individual who explains the new policy to me(WHICH IS NOT POSTED), "..not all people are comfortable with a dog outside the door." We were on the furthest posts, next to a chair, on the corner of the porch. He was well secured and away from the doorway. Since this new policy is not posted, I must assume it's...
Read moreIâve been coming to Hidden River for the last couple of years out of sheer necessity. Limp croissants, smug baristas, and slow service were things we just put up with because the choices in Camas/Washougal are so slim.
If you like church, youâll love this place. No visit is complete without a nauseating bro or four consulting the onion skin pages of their ESVs, bellowing about their views on gender and marriage, huffing the word counts of their sermons and hi-fiving fellow church members as they come in. The Christian hipsters are alive and well, and this is their haunt.
My sin? My puppy. I lost her leash in my fumble last week and she ran inside. Then she immediately ran out. Hell to pay!
The next week, I tied her up to the doggie ring they have in their run-down yard and she barked at a passer-by.
It galls me to know that some petty little Christian soul took it upon themselves to complain to the point that HR kicked me and my quietly-reading 7 year-old out, but not before reminding my of my naughty little dogâs infraction the week before!
I pity the dogmatic barista who evicted us. What a pathetic expression of hypocrisy, but bravo for having your game face intact. WWJD.
Weâre both glad itâs goodbye. The jokes on me for coming back here when I was...
