Blue Bottle from my experience is not bad at all, but I am basing this review solely on my experience here. I ordered the hojicha latte here and I either didn't hear my name get called or they didn't call it. I was the only person standing around waiting in front of them for several minutes before I asked if my drink was ready and they told me it had been sitting there waiting.

It was the weakest hojicha latte I've ever tried and it tasted almost like just drinking pure milk. I did appreciate the latte art though.

I also tried their single origin dark chocolate, which was $2 for 0.42oz. It was quite expensive for a tiny piece and I didn't particularly enjoy it either as it didn't stand out to me in any way from most other dark chocolate.

It may not be the norm here since other locations have been great, but my review is based on the customer service I received and the quality of the drink...

It's a shame that they have a nice location and presumably good coffee and deserts but they are unable to make people enjoy it.

I hope it was just my experience but, when I got there, the place was basically empty and I ordered a flat white and a blueberry cake. They gave me the coffee in a paper cup and the blueberry in a paper bag, even when they had real cups and plates available and no one was waiting. I didn't ask it to go. I sat at a table and couldn't enjoy the coffee not only because of that but also due to the fact that the two baristas had a very unfriendly attitude and didn't even respond when I said goodbye.

I hope I have another chance to go there again and have a good experience so I can update this review.

Hopefully I'm an exception and most people enjoy...

THE Blue Bottle roaster from Oakland is here! (and open) Not your typical chain coffee joint. Quality coffee is what you're here for, if you want a $2 coffee you have DD on every other block.

Very nice space to get an excellent cup of coffee. I bought beans from here and they all seem to be coming from the Brooklyn roaster location. The company has high levels of quality control so it will probably be consistent to what you order online. (Online orders come from the Oakland, CA facility. Yes, even orders coming from the East Coast.)

I went on a rainy muggy Sunday afternoon and there were plenty of seats and it was not too crowded. I could see this place getting crowded when tourist season comes around. So beware of long lines once this place is on...
