I guess you can decide who to believe. My spouse reviewed our experience, the owner replied and said we were lying. We are the type of family to order everything - apps and entrees - when we are asked what do you want to drink. Which we did, because our children are 4 and 1. They brought our apps and drinks, which weren’t really for the kids though the 1 year old tried a little, and then after an hour a family we were chatting with (who arrived after us) got their food. So we asked about ours and the server said 5 minutes. After 15 minutes we told them we were leaving. Look, they made a mistake and forgot to put in our entrees. It happens. But then they denied it, said they were sooo busy (when we arrived we were one of two tables but I understand there are online orders) and then on google said WE couldn’t decide on our entrees for an hour. Ha. I am one of those moms who forgets exactly nothing. Don’t play with me.
One of the two apps we ordered - the Gobi Manchurian - was really yummy. The samosas were fine. I was looking forward to our entrees, but we arrived before 5:30 and 6:45… sorry, that’s too long. It was bedtime and my kids were hungry.
I really hope you all figure it out. And I really hope you survive as a business, cause your menu is pretty cool Here’s a tip: when you mess up, just apologize and move on. We’ve NEVER w left a restaurant before getting our food. My next tip: today at another restaurant the server said, unprompted, “want me to just bring the kids’ food out right away with your salad?” Smart. Probably a mom.
Finally: the reply to my husband calling him a liar? That’s the only reason I’m...
Read moreI’ve been coming here to eat for quite a while. Whether it’s dining in for date night or getting take out, I’m NEVER disappointed. I don’t usually write reviews but something happened today that really made me smile and I feel like I have to share. I got my usual for takeout last night (chicken chettinad) which I hugely recommend. Super aromatic and flavorful, the chicken is always cooked perfectly as well as the rice. Although last night my dish was on the saltier side and It tasted different than usual. I sincerely hate complaining to restaurants but having worked in kitchens most of my career, I know that feedback is welcomed as long as you’re kind about it. I waited until the next afternoon to give them a call and let them know since it was pretty late by the time I had sat down to eat the night prior. The lovely owner answered the phone and when I explained the situation she immediately offered to replace it no problem! It might seem like a small gesture to some but it surprised me in the best way. I wasn’t trying to get a free meal at all but as I’m sitting here enjoying the fresh dish, I can’t help but feel honored to support such a wonderful business. They’ve got a forever customer here. If you’ve made it this far into my novel of a review, SUPPORT LOCAL BUSINESSES AND...
Read moreFinally, great Indian food has arrived on the MD eastern shore! In a word it was excellent and worth the drive to Cambridge! The restaurant exterior is kinda low profile, the interior décor is modest, and the restaurant is very clean. Service was good; our server spoke some English but the initial description of some dishes was confusing; however, we found that the menu depictions were accurate. Nothing ordinary about the food … high quality and very tasty. The three of us split a couple appetizers, Chicken Lilipops and Samosa Chaat … both were not typical of our previous experiences with Indian food, and both were just yummy. The entrees were ample; Chicken Korma and Lamb Chettinad, very tasty and nicely seasoned. Sadly, no room left for desert … but next time! Owner was present mid-way thru the meal, and he checked for our satisfaction during each course. He later suggested we try the Sunday buffet to get the total experience of their many different dishes. No alcohol served, and no BYOB permitted … but no biggie, because in a word, this place is a GEM. We will definitely return, and will recommend to those looking for a change-in-pace and want to experience a...
