It’s a mixed bag. As the name says it’s a dhaba environment (dhaba is like a roadside restaurant). The service is outstanding. The food is a mixed bag, unlike that you can build your own thali. The garlic naan was excellent and so was the chicken tikka masala. The palak paneer was butter and under seasoned. The chicken do pyaza (onion chicken) had potential but poorly executed. The chicken was cooked well but there was very little flavor and under seasoned with a thin curry. The chaats were average, the dahi Bhalla was well seasoned but had a weird crumbly texture. The aloo chaat was bad, the potatoes were aldente and it was overly sweet. The samosa chaat was also lacking the right balance of seasoning. The tomatoes and cucumber with the thali were really sad, unripe and flavorless. Poor selection of cuts.

Our first visit since it replaced a run of the mill Indian restaurant in the same space and we were more than happy. We got 2 very reasonably priced lunch specials and were impressed with the quality and quantity. Our choices included pepper chicken, goat, cauliflower, and chick peas. The portions were large and the spice levels just right. The included basmati rice was very good and the included appetizer was a samosa. I don't normally like samosas but this one was excellent. Also ordered a side of delicious garlic naan. Service was friendly and prompt. The decor is simple and tasteful. There's a glut of Indian restaurants in Boston, Cambridge, and surroundings but it's hard to differentiate one from the other. Singh's, though, is a standout and we'll not hesitate to return.

I've ordered from Singh's Dhaba multiple times. I have enjoyed every dish I've ordered - Malai kofta, chicken korma, samosas, samosa chaat, garlic naan, baingan bharta, palak paneer, and one of their lamb curries. I want to highlight the Malai kofta - it's my guilty pleasure dish, but it is hard for me to find Malai kofta that I like. I really enjoy the one here - the sauce is thick, creamy, and flavorful, and the potato dumplings are also flavorful. The only thing I'd say is that I wish more bread came in the naan order (at least for take out). It's a bit pricey for not much naan. Overall, this is my favorite Indian restaurant in the Cambridge/Boston area. I can't say much about the dining experience because I've only ordered take out.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant, and from the moment I walked in, I was impressed. The warm welcome from the staff immediately set the tone for an enjoyable experience. Every team member I encountered was courteous, attentive, and genuinely committed to making sure guests felt comfortable and cared for.

The food was absolutely exceptional. Each dish was prepared with fresh ingredients, presented beautifully, and full of flavor. You could tell that a great deal of thought and skill went into every recipe. The menu offered a balanced variety, catering to different tastes without feeling overwhelming. Every bite felt like it was made with passion and attention to detail, which made the dining experience truly memorable.

The ambiance was another highlight. The restaurant has a calm, inviting atmosphere that feels both elegant and cozy. Soft lighting, tasteful décor, and comfortable seating created the perfect setting to relax and enjoy the meal. The background music was subtle and pleasant, allowing for easy conversation without feeling intrusive.

Service was outstanding throughout the visit. The staff anticipated needs without hovering, offered thoughtful recommendations, and ensured that water glasses were always full. They handled everything with professionalism and a genuine smile, which elevated the overall experience.

While chatting with the staff, I learned that this restaurant has been serving guests for over 30 years. That history shows—in the confidence of the kitchen, the warmth of the service, and the attention to detail in every corner. Truly a gem...

Flavorless and unsafe!

I don't know what happened to this place. We've been coming here for years and it used to be great, but maybe two months ago something changed dramatically. Maybe they changed ownership?

Most importantly, the black pepper chicken was still pink and unset. No, not a smoke ring, it was basically raw. I literally cooked it in my oven so it was safe enough to eat (at which point the pink went away).

Have an allergy that you specify specifically on the order? Simply ignored. They will serve you food with a label that still says allergy and it will have the allergen in it. These new guys are going to really hurt someone.

Their curries had so little flavor I was worried I had covid.

Tonight we tried again, give them another chance, maybe it was an off night. Oof, even worse. The chaat (remade because the first one had an ignored allergy) tasted like syrupy watery goop. Butter chicken? The only good thing I can say is it was so bland my six-month-old baby was fine with it. The naan was somehow both burnt and undercooked--absolutely inedible.

It's truly depressing when a formerly excellent restaurant goes bad, particularly this bad. Hopefully some day I will find where their old cooks went (and brought the...

We were visiting Harvard from Los Angeles and someone recommended going to this restaurant. NEVER COMING BACK & NEVER RECOMMENDING TO ANYONE.

The server seemed to be not interested in giving customers a good experience -

We wanted to change tables shortly after arrival (no food was served and the restaurant was vacant) so our son could watch TV and the reaction given by the server was of disgust.

The veg and non-veg thaali we ordered for lunch came with pakora as appetizer. They ere cold as ice and when we asked the server to warm them up, he said he couldn’t since the pakora was “complementary”! FANTASTIC CUSTOMER SERVICE.

After all this great experience, the server had the audacity to ask and argue for a tip and lie that the state of Massachusetts mandates tipping! Tips are based on service and attitude - both of which were severely pathetic!

Finally, this has nothing to do with the server but - No chai at a restaurant that has Dhaba in its name is ludicrous! Even if there are legalities that prevent a Dunkin Donuts owner to not serve chai in...
