New restaurant in the neighbourhood. Tap 151 should be called Crap 151. lol that’s a bit harsh. Lemme explain.
I’ll start off with the food…
Words that come to mind: bland, cheap quality, dry, overcooked.
The Caesar salad didn’t have enough dressing. The croutons did not have much flavour, were not fresh, worse than store bought and the cheese needed some more kick. Not much flavour.
Wagyu burger was overcooked, bun felt cheap and fell apart, not toasted, very dry, had to add ketchup to add flavour and moisture.
Fish burger was dry. Not enough sauce, bun was better than Wagyu burger. Why not just use the same bun?
These were all things I was thinking as I ate my truffle covered tater tots. The best part of the meal but they were just generic tater tots with truffle on them.
The drinks were good. Hard to mess up bottled wine and the strawberry margarita was nice and refreshing.
Next, the service…
Somehow, our reservation was ‘seated’ before we got there. This problem was quickly resolved. Five minutes after sitting down a waiter came to ask for drinks, we asked for water and a couple alcoholic beverages, 10 minutes later the alcoholic beverages arrived with no water… We then ordered food which took 25 minutes to arrive. We ate the food. We then waited 20 minutes for the waiter to come around again for which then we asked for the bill. Luckily they came quick with the bill and we left.
The atmosphere was nice. It was just a sports bar, casual, there were kids... The ceilings were definitely not the highest of quality relative to the rest of the place and seemed to be lit too much considering how low quality they were.
Overall not a great experience. They opened a week or 2 ago so we are hopeful all of this improves and maybe we will return in a few months...
Read moreMy first experience here was around February of 2025 and back then I had encountered issues with servers not communicating well as myself and my friend both got messed up orders (my friend got a soda instead of a Corona that he ordered and I got the wrong burger). I did not want to write a bad review then as I felt this place should get a second chance. But then I went yesterday with my girlfriend and we had a very poor experience. We ordered chicken TENDERS but were served wings. The waiter did not come to ask us about our order nor did he ever even refill our waters even one time. We had asked another waiter about the mistaken chicken tender/wing mixup and found out after almost 45 minutes that the waiter apparently did not understand english (as was told by our actual waiter serving our table). We then waited nearly an hour later and at this point finished our other food. We did not get anything to make up for this poorly communicated mistake. We live close by to hear but sadly we don't want to waste our time coming back with such poor and uncaring service here. The food/sports watching experience overall is not bad but the service is not worth the visit to this...
Read moreThis was our 5th time to this restaurant and we had a good experience the first four times. Tonight after sitting at our table that I reserved on Open Table we had to ask for service after 15 minutes. We had to ask a bartender to find our waitress. She took our drink order and disappeared for another 15 minutes. Someone approached us and asked us how our night was going. We told him and he promptly took our order. Finally, our drinks showed up and then our food about an hour after we arrived. What prompted this review was the waitresses response when I asked her about why things took so long tonight thinking there was a valid reason. I even gave her a 2nd chance after her response which was “I can only take so many steps “. I asked if they were short handed? She responded it is typical on a busy night. When we arrived the place was half full and we have had good service in the past. The final reason that caused this review that I never give was the email I received from Open Table saying I was a “No Show “ for my reservation. Just shocked at how poorly this restaurant has become so quickly. No apologies...
