When The Lexington first opened its doors a few years back, it was one of the top dining spots in Cambridge. My experiences with Cambridge Street Hospitality Group's restaurants have typically been positive, and The Lexington was no exception. With its seasonal outdoor rooftop deck and contemporary American menu curated by Gilson, I was occasionally drawn in for a round of light drinks and a casual dinner.

I recently got to try their brunch on a Saturday afternoon. The menu was a quintessential example of contemporary American brunch fare, and overall, the dishes we chose were good. Highlights for me included the Smoked Salmon and the Sourdough French Toast. The salmon was served atop a crispy mini potato waffle, with the addition of sour cream and red onions complementing the smoked fish perfectly. As for the French toast, while it teetered on the edge of being soggy, its softness surprisingly paired well with the richness of vanilla bean cream and the fresh berries.

The Yogurt Parfait, chosen for a healthier touch, unfortunately skewed too sour for my taste, even with the berry toppings. In the Steak and Eggs dish, the crispy home fries were one of the best I’ve had in the city, though the steak itself was merely average.

With so many new contemporary restaurants in the city, The Lexington may not be the standout it once was. However, it still holds its own as an elegant dining spot, particularly for dinner. With reservations now more accessible, I'd recommend them to anyone looking for an upscale yet relaxed...

Spacious restaurant near the corporate offices in lechmere. Came here for a work event and though there was a bit of confusion about getting our table, were seated quite quickly.

Food items - particularly appetizers and small plates - were great. Get the onion dip and duck tostada in particular. The jalapeno bacon croquettes were also a big hit. For main courses, the gnocchi and seafood dishes were great. Dessert dishes were ok, not amazing for the end of the meal.

Drinks also were delicious - there's a wide selection of cocktails and the wine selection was varied.

Service was a bit spotty. Because we were a larger group, I thought we would be waited upon quickly but a few items - particularly drinks - took a long time to get to us with repeated inquiries about the same. Given it's proximity to other offices it's a good safety choice for events. That said I think the service could level up to the quality...

The service was terrible. They pretty much ignored us once we placed our orders. We could see the staff chatting and hanging out while we tried to get their attention to fix some of the food issues. The food was not good either. The appetizer was cooked in burnt oil, which was overwhelming when you tried to eat it. We tried to get someone to replace it but they never came to check in and ignored us calling them over. Then the main courses came out cold as if they had sat out for a while. It was especially weird since the sauce in one dish was hot but the fish under it was cold. We again tried to get someone's attention and finally gave up, walked to the bar and paid our bill. We were at the restaurant for over an hour and the wait staff came by barely 4 times. All in all, not sure it's worth coming back to given all the issues. It's a shame as it looks like a cute place to grab a...

We had some excellent drinks and appetizers at the Lexington Thursday night. Cambridge CX was having a concert so it was busy and festive in the area. The calamari was very good as was the Jalapeno-bacon Croquetts. I really enjoyed my drink the Envoy on Time. The waiter was young and had just started a few months ago and was excellent. He gave us some good suggestions and was very attentive and nice.
