The aroma of hot pizza filled the air, the restaurant was dark and had a few tables of patrons on Saturday night. It was close to what it is listed online as their closing time. But they did have a sign on the door stating that certain nights of the week they will be open till 830 to accommodate larger weekend crowds. The waitress that took a drink order was very nice and polite. The waitress that took her food order did not pick up the cues that it was our first time in the restaurant. We did order a 14 inch large pepperoni pizza and a half does an order of chicken wings, barbecue flavor. Our drinks came out in massive cups with lots of small bits of ice that was fantastic! The pizza came out and was steamy and you could tell the cheese was very well, melted! And the waitress did tell us would be a few more minutes on the wings, and we understood because they were not listed as an appetizer. They were simply on the menu as an item you could order. Then moments later, we heard her from the kitchen asking if they forgot about cooking the wings. Thankfully, they did not as they arrived Just moments later. The weight staff did stop by several times throughout us eating to check on our drinks to see if we need refills or anything. We did ask for some ranch. We were informed that it is $1.50 extra for the ranch. I totally understand food establishments having to charge for every item that goes out because it costs them to have on hand. Over all the pizza as hot and cheesy. Personally we like pepperoni to be a bit crispy on pizza. We were full from the pizza and had to take the wings home… 4 hours later and we still haven’t eaten the wings! One 14” pizza fed family of 3...
Read moreCame to Crusty’s on a whim. We were driving through Camp Verde and decided to stop.
This reminded me of the old style family run pizza restaurants from my youth.
Booths and tables. A few beer signs in an Italian themed restaurant w the pizza ovens exposed and the staff busily taking care of customers.
Felt cosy.
Had the pizza and a salad. The salad was large enough for 2-3 people. The pizza was very good. I would call it a medium thick crust. Not thin.
When I first saw the size of the large, I wondered if it would be enough for 3 people. But we took 3 slices home.
We thought the pizza always very good. A little haphazardly created with the toppings unevenly distributed. But a very good taste and nice bite to the crust.
I am a bit old school and prefer my Parmesan and Chili flakes to be served in a shaker at the table when I dine-in at the restaurant. Not out of packets. And we would prefer fresh salad dressing versus a packet of dressing.
Other than that, we liked it. Simple pizza restaurant with good...

It wasn't my first choice but we ate there and did not get sick.
pros: service the one and only food joint in a radius of approx. 5 miles they have pizza
cons: wait time for 1 "calzone" (or something that bore some vague resemblance to a calzone) and 1 lasagna (its taxonomy notwithstanding...) the food itself: the "lasagna" - happily swimming in a pool of its own (?) grease and yearning to land under more appreciative sets of olfactory and visual sensors. the "calzone": I swear, it had precisely the same exact taste as the lasagna, meaning none. salad: straight out of the bag with no radishes, mushrooms or olives and a packet of dressing on the side. Seeing the rest of the reviews, I guess there is a possibility we might have been the unlucky ones... weird location, weird decor (a sort of paradise lost with a creepy monkey fixation)
All in all, quite a...
