For the couple of years I have lived in Canby Iāve been saying we needed an ice cream shop. Cones is in a great location itās very cute, nicely decorated and the options seem really good. I went in today with my mom but decided to leave before ordering because of a couple of things. It was pretty busy which is great and although I truly understand they are new and still working out the kinks the young teens who were handling the ice cream and checking people out seemed a little flustered and overwhelmed. I completely understand that this is something that will get worked out. I did see an adult come out from the back as we were leaving so that was promising. The main issues I had are 1. They donāt have blowers on the door so there were several huge black flies buzzing around and landing on the cones and toppings 2. None of the employees handling food were wearing gloves. The employee scooping ice cream was doing so with bare hands. Maybe that isnāt a big deal in Oregon? Every ice cream shop I have ever been to including Cloud City in Portland have employees scooping ice cream and handling food with gloves on, or at least one glove. This prevents someone bare hand from touching the ice cream as itās scooped. So yeah a few kinks to work out I hope. I am still excited about having an ice cream shop and I hope with small adjustments it...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis is a local Canby ice cream parlor. The place itself is cute with a white and pink color pallet. They even have a little toy ice cream shop for kids to play in on the inside of the shop. The ice cream selection is interesting but the ice cream itself is typical. It's good but nothing extraordinary. It also takes a decent amount of time to get your ice cream. If you do any mix-ins they put everything in a manual ice cream mixer which takes a while. We went with a group of 7 and it took 15 minutes to get everything and there was a pretty long line out the door once we were done. It is cool that they mix everything manually but there are only two mixers, which is not very practical since it is the only ice cream shop in Canby. All in all, it is a good ice cream shop if you live in Canby but I would not go out of my way...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI had the, extremely hard to find Black Licorice (one scoop) and one scoop of Mint Chip. Yummmm! This sweet spot in Canby, on Holly, ( really, the only one in Canby since the DQ closed), actually is the only, place to find, real ice cream, not the weak version, sold at most grocery stores. It was served in a freshly made, hot-off-the-grill, waffle cone! There is a great selection of choices of ice cream, here, even, if you are not a licorice sleuth! Sheila & Evan, the Wait Staff, were engaging, friendly and knowledgeable. They even have, Cone T-Shirts to purchase, What are you, waiting for? Drop by, sooner than later! They even have freezers full of ice cream, in the back, so, bring a group...
