This was the worst restaurant customer service experience I have ever had in my life. I’ve been in and out of fine dining for over 40 years. We chose this restaurant because of the reviews on google. I had a very important party for five people who are all coming from out of town it was a very special occasion. I talked to Chef Jeff about six weeks ago and he promised me everything was in order he would get in touch with me a week or so before the event to get all of our orders. I told him then that everyone was coming from across the country and it would be very difficult to coordinate so please give me lots of time. I never heard from him again. He also requested a hearty deposit, which he immediately charged to my card. Most other restaurants take your card number but do not charge it unless you don’t show. I thought paying a deposit ensured us great service. He never called. I began emailing him a week before we were to arrive. I then called him four or 5 different times and left my number. He never returned my calls or emails. I finally just got in touch with him. It is Friday afternoon now our reservation is for Saturday. Understandably I am very upset. The coast is booked and I have nowhere to take my family. Instead of listening and apologizing he cut me off and he told me he had heard enough and to quit lecturing him that he had tried to call me, which is absolutely not true, because again I called him multiple times and emailed him. He said he doesn’t check his phone during the week and that I guess he doesn’t check his email either. What kind of business owner does that? I asked him why he didn’t get back to me last night since the restaurant was open. He said he was too busy. What about this morning? I asked him to please tell me what he was going to serve us tomorrow night, as he said, all the food must be ordered in advance, again he got very rude, told me he had heard enough of my lecture, and would not answer me. I am an older woman, I guarantee he would have ever spoken to an angry man so dismissively. I asked him again, what was his plan for our large party, I wanted his answer so I could be accurate in my review. He told me to leave whatever I wanted in the review he didn’t care . I also suggest that you read yelp reviews. The Google reviews says good but the yelp reviews are not nearly as good and say that he was a scammer in his last town of business doing basically the same thing. I would never write such a scathing review, I rarely write reviews, if I wasn’t in such a pickle and had been treated so poorly, he also has $180 deposit. I called to have him refund that he insisted on getting my credit card number again! He doesn’t keep them on file, very fishy. I then asked him for a confirmation # that he was indeed refunding my credit card. He was unable to provide. He said he had to call his CC company. This does not sound like a reputable business. The other people in my party think he doubled booked and was just going to ignore us. Perhaps he took my number down incorrectly.? He seemed to make no attempt to try and find me. I couldn't have made it any easier on him. No amount of wagyu and lobster tail could have offset the stress this caused. Chef Jeff helped us pick out a nice Oregon Pino Noir to match our meal. Speaking of the meal—it was nothing short of extraordinary. The filets were perfect as were the salad, veggies and dessert. Notables were the young shitake mushrooms and cheesecake.
