We recently had the pleasure of staying at The Waves Motel during our family visit to Cannon Beach, Oregon, and we must say, it was a delightful coastal retreat that exceeded our expectations. From its convenient location to its cozy rooms and friendly service, The Waves Motel provided a memorable experience that captured the essence of Cannon Beach.
Location-wise, The Waves Motel couldn't be better situated. It is nestled just a stone's throw away from the pristine shores of Cannon Beach, allowing guests to easily access the beach and enjoy breathtaking sunsets or invigorating walks along the coastline. Additionally, the motel is within walking distance of downtown Cannon Beach, where a variety of shops, galleries, and restaurants await exploration.
The motel itself boasts a charming exterior with a traditional coastal aesthetic. The buildings are well-maintained and emit a warm, welcoming vibe. As for the rooms, we found them to be tastefully decorated and thoughtfully appointed. Though not overly spacious, they were clean, comfortable, and had all the necessary amenities for a pleasant stay, including cozy beds, a mini-fridge, and a coffee maker. Some rooms even offer beautiful ocean views, adding to the overall appeal.
One standout aspect of The Waves Motel was the exceptional service provided by the staff. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with genuine warmth and friendliness. The staff members were always ready to assist with any questions or requests, providing valuable recommendations for local attractions and dining options. Their attentiveness and dedication to ensuring a pleasant stay truly made a difference.
The Waves Motel also offers a range of additional amenities that enhance the overall experience. The complimentary Wi-Fi was reliable and allowed us to stay connected, while the on-site parking provided convenience and peace of mind. Additionally, the motel features a lovely courtyard area where guests can relax, unwind, and enjoy the fresh ocean breeze—a perfect spot for savoring a cup of coffee in the morning or a glass of wine in the evening.
While The Waves Motel offers a comfortable and enjoyable stay, it's important to note that it is a mid-range accommodation option. If you're seeking luxurious amenities and extravagant features, you may want to consider other options. However, if you're looking for a reasonably priced motel that captures the essence of Cannon Beach and offers a cozy, welcoming ambiance, The Waves Motel is an excellent choice.
Overall, our experience at The Waves Motel was highly positive. Its convenient location, charming decor, friendly staff, and attention to detail all contributed to a memorable stay. We would gladly recommend this motel to anyone looking for a tranquil escape to Cannon...
Read moreWe stayed in a Flagship room that overlooks the water. This was over the Memorial Day weekend. The staff had our check in package all ready to go. The room was very clean and had stove, microwave, coffee maker and small fridge. There was also a grill near the steps to the entryway. Our room had a fireplace which kept the room cozy at night. There is also electric baseboard heat too. Shower had decent pressure which we always appreciate. Large windows offering a great view of the ocean and The Tillamook lighthouse from our room. Privacy blinds also. Windows do open so you can get nice breeze or just listen to the waves. Balcony had great privacy so you don’t have to worry about neighbors watching you sip morning coffee. Well almost private, from my photos you can guess who invited themselves over. The seagulls are bold to say the least. They will tap on the glass especially if you enjoy a snack or breakfast at the little table next to the window. At one point they were on the roof tapping on the skylight. In all honesty it was actually entertaining. They made the trip a bit more memorable. In all the room was cozy and my wife and I enjoyed it very much. The location was good too. We were within walking distance of so many restaurants and shops. We left our car parked at the hotel for 3 days. So nice not having to hunt for parking just to grab a bite or shop or even walk the beach. This is going to be our go to spot now for our future Cannon...
Read moreWe were impressed with the reception staff, very efficient and friendly. She showed us the room, and we stayed because we liked the room. We appreciate the fact that this is a completely pet-free motel because of my allergies. The floor in our room was tiled with a small carpeted area around the bed – which was a great idea. The kitchen was well done, nice tiles. The eating area by the window was very cute – like having a window seat in a sea view restaurant. The walk-in bath was very enjoyable, with plenty of water, and a decent alcove for shampoo and soap. The bright sun lamp makes the shower feel like an outdoor shower. I was impressed with the Toto toilet which had a self-closing lid. The bed was firm. The bed sheet feels clean, soft and new, the face cloth feels good and smells fresh as though it was boiled cleaned. I did not sneeze a single time while in the room because they did not use cheap scented detergent for their linen. When we walked along their "street" we saw three garages which look like workshops. We saw evidence of a new cedar wall in our building. Actually, I heard what seems like renovations above our suite. Their claim of "quality" is substantiated. The only thing I was missing was a make-up mirror. Being short sighted, it was hard for me to see what's going on in the bathroom mirror even though there's ample lighting – I just need the mirror...
