We made sure to return here after having the duck breadt charcuterie. unfortunately this visit they were out of duck and turkey. I ended up going with the "The grilled cheese" and added smoked brisket. It was soooo good! Boyfriend had the smoked cubano sandwich. Update: 7/30/25. It pains me to say it but this place changed for the worse. We've come here and gotten the same thing every time and it's been excellent. This time, the drinks were good but the sandwiches were lacking. The "that grilled cheese" includes "melted brie", smoked cheddar, marionberry chutney, Dijon aoli and butter. This time, there was no brie on it. I asked the guy that served us and said "I don't have any brie on my sandwich, I think it's supposed to have some on it"- I double checked the menu before saying something to make sure I wasn't imagining things because I hate speaking up when something is wrong with food. He then asked the cook if he forgot to put it on and he said "oh it's a spreadable brie, it's on there". There was no "spreadable brie" on there, and if there was, that's not what is depicted on the menu or my experience every other time having this, if that's the case change the menu. This time they weren't out of duck but adding it to the grilled cheese was an extra $14, which is fine, but there was barely a pinch of duck on there. It's just really disappointing to work up the courage to advocate for myself and then be lied to about it. Just slice me up some brie and I'll put it on my sandwich bc it's still warm. The server saw how disappointed I was with the BS answer and asked if I wanted it removed from my bill. That wasn't my goal. I just wanted the melted brie, lol I knew how amazing the sandwich is when it's all accounted for. He removed it from the bill, which is nice especially bc with the added duck ( barely any) it's a $32 sandwich.

I stopped by Cannon Beach Smokehouse on a beautiful Saturday afternoon this past January, just after walking around town to catch a glimpse of the planet alignment near Haystack Rock. After a refreshing coastal stroll, I was ready to warm up and grab a bite, and this spot was just a short walk away with a great location right in the heart of town. When I arrived, the place was packed—so packed, in fact, that there was nowhere to sit. It’s a small venue, and while that makes it cozy, it also makes it a bit chaotic during busy times. I can only imagine how crowded it must get in the summer. It might help if they had some heaters outside for people who are waiting in the colder months, or at least a better system to let guests know about wait times. That said, the staff was friendly and working hard to keep up. I ordered the smoked pork nachos (I believe it was brisket or pork—they were generous and tasty either way), and the portion size was impressive. My Bloody Mary was just okay—not bad, but nothing to rave about either. One thing I felt was a miss: an employee came in during peak dinner time and grabbed a table for themselves while several paying guests were still waiting. In a place that small, during that busy of a night, it just didn’t sit right. Hopefully that’s not a regular occurrence. Prices were fair, and parking wasn’t too difficult to find, which is always a plus in Cannon Beach. Overall, the food had promise and the location is ideal, but a few tweaks in service and space management could really elevate the experience. Worth a stop if you’re already in the area, especially if you’re patient or visit during quieter hours.

Terribly long wait time for overpriced mediocre food and basic items not available. 20% gratuity added to the bill for our group of 6 when the menu specifically stated a 15% gratuity. They have one cook and one bartender and that is the ENTIRE staff. It took over 30 minutes to get waters and the drinks came out one by one over the next 20 minutes. At that time we were informed they were out of diet soda. The bartender is the one who took the order. Why weren't we informed of that earlier?? Took about an hour and a half to get the food. The tortilla chips for the tacos had obviously been the bottom of the bag and were just small pieces all broken up. The salsa was very good but unfortunately that was the only good thing. Menu items were not available for several things. The fries were overcooked or burnt. The meats were mostly dry. My parents will eat anything and they didn't care for it at all. We foolishly brought the food home only to throw it out the next day because it was just so bad and nobody wanted to eat it. The bill was just under $200 and we didn't order anything expensive. The bartender was friendly but you could tell she was defeated with the whole staffing setup and shortage of items to the point where she just can't really care. It's obvious the owners don't care so why should she. I felt badly for her but the whole experience was just awful. I hate giving negative reviews but it really made a great day at the beach turn into a real downer ending for our...
