Stopped here while I was in Canonsburg for work. I'm a home energy auditor and I was assigned a big job at an apartment complex that was time sensitive so I needed something fast for lunch. This place showed up when I searched for "restaurants" to just see what was close to where I was so I figured I would give it a go. First off I will say that both the bar side and the restaurant side were very clean and the staff were excellent! The lunch specials they had running were a great bargain as my coworkers and I were able to get a large pizza and drinks for all of us for the same price that you would end up paying just for drinks at other establishments. I think the deal was a large 1 topping pie and 4 drinks for $13 or $14 which I found to be one of the best food deals I've seen in recent years anywhere! We placed our order with a very friendly young woman who was working the bar side and she got us our drinks immediately. Anytime one of us had about 1/4 of our drink left she was right there asking if they wanted a refill. This showed superb service from this young woman! We had our food within 10 minutes which was delicious and made perfectly! Overall we were there for less than 20 minutes from the time we entered the door until I received my receipt for the bill and were back at the job site 25 minutes after we first left. Since the prices were such a remarkable bargain I left the attractive young lady a $20 tip on a bill just shy of $16. Even with that tip amount it was still cheaper than any other restaurants with far superior service! I highly recommend this little gem in a hole in the wall if you want even just great food let alone not breaking the bank and the friendliest...

A very busy St Patrick's Day!
A new co-owner himself served us and was very attentive. I had an Irish Car Bomb, a Guinness, and some bacon & cheese fries that arrived after a small wait (but sooner than I expected given how busy things were).
One of the things I noticed was that the hot sauce bottles were a little more interesting & indie-feeling this time (a habanero, papaya, and pineapple blend which is a nice change of pace as opposed to just Frank's Red Hot -though to be honest I didn't really taste the pineapple or papaya).
The bacon & cheese fries were sizable (think of 'The O' in Oakland like JUST before they closed down or half of their size like a decade ago), but they could have been a little more fried (like crisp & crunchy) imo.
For the management: The board on the wall at our seating place has an unseated screw, and it would have been nice to have some more St Patrick's Day specials (especially food).
This place is a goto for reunions with my old friends, so I expect to continue to see good things...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLet me tell you up front, if youāre looking for anything more than a simple neighborhood dive, frequented mostly by regulars... donāt bother! McGrogans, or McGrogs as we fondly refer to it, is our favorite little haunt in Canonsburg. One of my friends discovered it and it became our go-to āafter workā rant session venue. It offers a fairly decent selection of beer and spirits and a large bar counter... and an eclectic crowd. Weekday happy hour is half off. I will personally vouch for their jalapeƱo poppers and zucchini planks - my standard order when Iām here! The pizza and hoagies are good too. Service is friendly and on point! Their jukebox lets you pick the music - you will hear anything from Taylor Swift to Pink Floyd to the heaviest metal here in succession in the same evening. There is no judgement here, the poppers are the best and the beer is cheap! What more do you want! Now, most of us donāt even work in Canonsburg anymore but still return to McGrogs every now and then just coz well......
