The only reason i give it 3 stars is because the beer was decent. I however will probably not return due to the lack of service and the poor food quality. First time there yesterday and the bar and restaurant had four people total other than me and my husband and it took quite a while to get our samples which was only eight beers, and half of them turned warm before we even got to taste them. I was starving so I ordered a burger. For $10 I received the thinnest and smallest (about the size of a $1 wendy's burger) plain burger which was supposed to be cooked medium and was completely charred to where all I tasted was a burnt greasy burger. It didn't come with fries and I was charged an extra $1 for the worst fake cheese that wasn't even melted on top. It tasted worse than any cafeteria burger and I couldn't even finish it. The bartender completely ignored us for the majority of the time looking on her phone and eating food and my subpar burger was left in the window for 5 minutes before it was even delivered to me, and she never asked how it was or how we were doing, just cared about talking to her friends and on her phone at the bar. Disappointment. We then left and drove to White horse brewing where the bartender had a completely full bar and all the tables were full and somehow he managed to give us way better service while completely running the whole entire establishment on his own, and the beers were way better! Being in the industry i am sad because the place is...

So I've only been here twice, once was during Octoberfest, we wanted pumpkin beer, we stopped in, they were insanely busy, which was a good sign. They make all of their own alcohol, we weren't a fan. I ended up with a water. We didn't stay. Last night we went, we saw they had 'adult Hot chocolate' on the menu and wanted to try it. A++. They nailed it. Idk how much alcohol if any was in it, because you couldn't taste it at all, which was EXACTLY what a girl like me wanted. I only got 1, but I tried the peppermint hot chocolate and it was really good too. You could tell there was alcohol in that one. Service and staff was super friendly. Again it was ridiculously packed. But we got waited on within a few min of being there. They also have food, which i didn't know. The food ppl were getting looked delicious. 5 stars for now because they have good service, great water and adult hot chocolate lol. Fiance got their winter beer, he kind of liked it. Update: well this actually turns out to be my favorite place to eat in Canonsburg. Their wings are A++++++++, I get them plain with the honey jalapeno on the side, to die for! And I get Cajun fries. Omg. Also they have a gluten free bun and it doesn't fall apart!!!! Their food is awesome....

Interesting place. The live entertainment is pretty good; we saw a very talented young woman play guitar and sing. You seat yourself, have to walk up to the register to pay and order food and beer which is a little different. My wife and I ordered a flight of all their beers on tap and I can't say I really enjoyed any of them all that much. Compared to a lot of other breweries in that area, I would not say this is a top-shelf place. In addition to the beer, we ordered loaded fries which were okay. Again, not that great. I was not too impressed.

Update: My initial review was years ago so I wanted to update it accordingly. Having come back here again they've introduced more beer, other local wine and a much larger menu. They have quite a few beers that were great. Also, the food was awesome. I'm updating the review from...

Overall, Rusty Gold Brewing was a great experience. The 1802 cream ale was insanely good, as were the RGB burger and the giant pretzel. The burger had fried mozzarella on it which was delicious and the pretzel had a delicious mustard sauce and was perfectly salty and buttery. The inside of the location was cool. I appreciated the live music, but it was so loud it was not possible to hear someone sitting 3 feet from you. Additionally, the chicharróns were a bit underwhelming. I didn’t know what they were going in, and google said they were fried pork belly. Turns out it’s basically just fried air puffs. Didn’t really have much substance, although the flavor was good. Just not worth ordering. Overall though, was delicious and I would go back in the future assuming the live music was quieter/absent that night

Took a trip here from Bethel Park area. Very nice atmosphere. Very friendly staff and good beer. We got the flight with 5 samples. The IPA is full of hoppy goodness! We ended up taking a growler of it home. Lots of food choices, but we went with the hummus platter and cheeseburger flatbread. Both were delicious. The hummus could come with some fresher veggies they were a little on the dry side. The cheeseburger flatbread was amazing! I might add tomatoes and onions to it. A city councilman visited our table and told us some fun history about the place like everything in there came from outside. The doors used for the bar came from upstairs. All in all, a great place to visit if you're in the area. Wish they had stickers to add to our collection.
