Allow me to tell you a story
It's around 12:45pm according to the stereo in my old car. It's a Tuesday, or it feels like a Tuesday at least (and sometimes the feeling is more real than the Gregorian truth). I pull into the parking lot of this subway and exit my car into the fragile chill. The store is empty. Opening the door, I fail to look behind me as the counter entices my attention away from the outside world. I begin to tell the employee what I want on my sandwich. I don't recognize everything sitting in the small plastic bins. I settle on ham and cheese. Toasted. The artist looks sheepishly and slyly at the oven, as if she didn't want it noticing her gaze.
"The oven is broken"
"That's okay" - I say. The relief in her eyes is satisfactory enough explanation.
Placing my sandwich in the bag, I reach into my wallet and pull out several bills. The attendant looks at them sceptically and asks:
"United States? Where's that? We only take real money here, sir"
Not wanting to open that box too far, I laugh it off and pull out my card. The look the attendant gives me is suspiciously knowing as she swipes the card.
Looking up from the reader, there's still threads of light clinging to the sky. Stepping outside, it's dark. Getting into my car, the stereo reads 9:56pm. I lean forward to turn off the radio as two men argue intensely in a language I recognize as English, but cannot understand.
By the time I get home, I'm more tired than I am hungry and decide to eat later.
This subway, like all others, is a connection to other places. They serve not only sandwiches but also reminders that one can choose the toppings one's proverbial sandwich but not the outcomes of those decisions.
I need more reminders of...
Read moreI just visited this place and it was the most painful visit to a Subway I've ever had. While I am normally super understanding when people are new, the young lady helping me was absolutely clueless, and clearly needed a lot more training. She had no idea which menu item was what, and I had to tell her which ingredients were needed on each sub. Even then, the subs were made wrong (I had to get my meat separately and after confirming 3 times that the meat was for the sub I ordered because she'd initially repeated it wrong twice, she still packed up the wrong set of meat). I ended up going home, opening up the meat and realizing it was wrong, and returning to the store to get it fixed. In actuality, I would have liked new sandwiches as they were done so poorly, but I didn't have the heart to request that the other employee package them instead of her. When I did, I had to repeat the correct 3 meats I wanted THREE times before she was able to remember and pack up the meat for me. In addition, the rotisserie chicken was super dry and the bread didn't seem fully cooked. I am not sure if this employee could even be helped by further training, but we will not return to this location. It...
Read moreAbsolute worst Subway location!!!! Stay far away from this one!!! Not only was the food not even remotely edible the staff are THIEVES! On 3/1/2022 When I was cashing out for my subs I didn’t realize right away that the total was different then what she told me. Luckily, I asked for my receipt being that I swore she told me $28.25 but then the credit card screen said $32.48. I was in a rush since it was lunch time but when I got a look at my receipt I couldn’t believe they decided to take it upon themselves to tip $4.23!?!? When I went to check out there was nothing indicating for me to leave a tip on the card machine. I get home and tell my husband and of course he is very upset. We call Subway and speak to the manger there. A lady with a bad attitude answers and gets defensive right away. Saying she did not do the tip herself. Even telling my husband she doesn’t know what he’s trying to pull!? Are you kidding? You steal and tip yourselves but we are trying to pull something!? Good job making the situation worse! We are taking this up with corporate and exposing this location! DO NOT COME HERE!!! Nasty OLD food with nasty management that like to steal peoples money!...
