I dont know how this place gets any good reviews. You would think Taco Tuesday would bring customers in but it was not busy and we were there between 5-7pm. 1st the service was terrible couldn't even understand our questions or what we wanted to order. We ordered a small margarita and a 16oz and 24oz draft beer and we got and were charged for a med margarita and two 24 oz draft beers. We ordered a steak and chicken street taco and 3 street steak tacos and 3 regular beef tacos. We got, 3 street tacos (corn tortillas with steak and cilantro and onions, thats it) the steak was way overdone. We got a soft steak and a soft chicken taco...that were supposed to be street tacos? The hard beef tacos came as ordered but so salty they were not edible. The original waitress couldn't understand anything we asked for or ordered. Another waitress assisted but we still got the wrong orders. After "trying" to eat this garbage we waited forever to get our bills. The busboy came and asked if we were done with our meals and took our plates, and we said yes, we're done and we would like our bills, and he brought us our bills. And at the time he brought the bills, we explained to him how we ordered a small Margarita and a 16 oz draft beer, but were charged for a medium Margarita and a twenty four ounce draft bill, and he said, oh, i'm sorry, she's new...that is not an excuse...... So we decided we'll wait until we go to pay our bills at the checkout counter and discuss it there..... We waited at the checkout counter for what seemed like forever for someone to come check us out. I had to call the phone number, and when they answered, I said we are at the checkout and want to pay our bills. Can someone please come and take our money? And I was immediately hung up on with no response and then the same Waitress That waited on us that couldn't understand any English came to check us out. So we paid our bills and we left zero amount of tip, which I have never done in my life. Terrible experience, won't be back!I and as a side note, I wasn't there for Taco Tuesday... I was actually going to order something else. But after the initial experience, I was afraid to order anything more expensive. But that doesn't mean the tacos because of taco tuesday, should be less quality than any other day, and these tacos...
Read moreListen I stopped there on my nephew's recommendation he'd been there before. I got there a little bit early and I ordered a cold beer and wait for him. A lady brought out my menu, which is more like a catalog because they have so many selections. Instructing me that she spoke Pokeno English. I get it ...cool I'm at a Mexican restaurant.
The waitress comes out and I'm waiting for my nephew to arrive for a business meeting I asked her for some suggestions because I had never been there before and she mentioned the Diablo burrito. I'll get back to that. My nephew shows up he has iced tea and I have a couple of cold beers. Very patient waitress very patient and when we were ready she took our order my nephew what he wanted and I ordered the Diablo that she had suggested which consisted of shrimp steak and chicken and a whole lot of other goodies too many to mention. At any rate, it was extremely tasteful but had a little bit of an afterburn which was good with me.
The ticket might be a little high for some people but I can assure you that two people can eat off of one meal. So if you go there on a budget one of those super big burritos comes with fried beans and rice and maybe another side and a couple of drinks and you're good to go.
The question is will I go back? You bet your bottom dollar I will.
I said they have so much on their menu to choose from and I just barely scratched the surface today.
It was a wonderful day outside sunshiny and warm and we took full advantage of the patio which got full and noisy with the Mexican music blaring and people just talking.
Nobody paying attention to their words as far as being politically correct and it was a overall good time.
If you haven't been there I suggest you stop by.
I did not take pictures of the food and everything today because it was a business meeting. I wanted to keep things above board. Trust me to check out their website, you can't miss it. And by the way, it's happy...
Read moreDon Tequila Bar & Grill transports you to the vibrant streets of Mexico with its authentic cuisine and lively atmosphere. Stepping through the doors is like walking into a cantina in a small town just over the border, with colorful hand-painted murals, festive papel picado decorations, and sombreros hanging from the walls.
The menu features traditional Mexican favorites prepared with fresh, high-quality ingredients. We started with warm chips and homemade salsa, guacamole and pico de gallo. The salsa was zesty with just the right amount of spice, and the guacamole freshly mashed with chunks of avocado. For our mains, we ordered taco al pastor made with marinated pork and grilled fish tacos topped with creamy chipotle aioli, slaw and fresh lime. The tacos were perfectly dressed and packed with flavor. Margaritas and nachos are a highlight too - the expertly crafted margaritas come in a variety of fruity flavors and the overflowing nachos are served bubbling hot with all the fixings.
The attentive servers go out of their way to make recommendations and ensure all guests have a great experience. They take pride in sharing their culture through the food. Live music on select nights raises the energy level and sets the stage for more margaritas and dancing. While the VIP section allows for a more intimate meal with friends.
