Absolutely delicious. Showed up around 7:30 on Friday night and was seated right away. Service was quick, courteous, and efficient.
The food was.... amazing. Fried okra and hushpuppies to start, both perfect. Cajun seafood broil with snow crab, shrimp, sausage, red potatoes, and corn for the entree. It comes out in a big plastic bag, which the waitress opens for you. You're also provided with a plastic bib and gloves... which you'll need!
Everything was cooked perfectly. The food is all just covered and dripping in this cajuny, buttery, sloppy mess of deliciousness and spice. You choose from four flavor options and choose your level of spice. The medium had the perfect little kick to it. Not so spicy that it became hard to eat, but enough to let you know it's there. And there was so. much. food.
Half pound of crab, half pound of shrimp, and half pound of sausage ran right around $30. Not bad at all for all you get.
The only slight downside was that they still don't have their liquor license, so no alcohol. A beer would have been nice, but man, once I started eating I just didn't care. The huge, nice bar was a somewhat depressing sight being completely empty, though.
Decor is really cool. Unlike anything around the area, really. Music is your standard top hits type thing. They do seem to play the unedited versions, though, so be aware of that if you bring the kids. It's nothing crazy bad or anything, but not whitewashed like you'd hear on your FM radio. You have to be really listening to notice, though, because unlike many restaurants the music doesn't blare obnoxiously loudly.
Overall a fantastic meal and fantastic time. I'll be...
Read moreMy girlfriend and I travelled to Canton to visit the Pro Football Hall of Fame this past weekend for my birthday.. after the visit to the museum, we decided to grab dinner and WE LOVE CRABS! We’re frequent visitors of Joe’s Crab Shack, and we’re discouraged to find there wasn’t one in close proximity to Canton.. so we decided to take a chance on a local crab restaurant and see what happened.. we googled crabs and found A Plus Crab had good reviews so we decided to give it a shot, and man were we impressed! From the moment we walked in everything went great! We were greeted quickly and led to our table just as quickly.. the wait staff was awesome! Our server was Flower, she’s the best of the best! She was attentive, made sure we had everything we needed (crab crackers, zippers, gloves, bibs, and hand wipes) and made sure we didn’t sit long without drink refills.. we ordered hush puppies as an app, which didn’t take long at all, and each ordered the snow crab with A plus sauce and hot seasoning.. the boil bags came out piping hot which is awesome! Although I would still eat cold crabs they are so much better when they’re hot! And as I mentioned, we went for my birthday.. so Flower carded us for our drinks realized my birthday was within the next couple of days and took it upon herself to get us a dessert and have the staff sing happy birthday! We are from NJ so unfortunately we probably won’t be back for a while if ever, but just know if I ever do happen to be in the area I will be a return guest! If you’re looking for a good crab place and your in that area, give it a try and...
Read moreI usually come here pretty often, food is USUALLY amazing. Some times it was overcooked, no meat, crab not properly cleaned, or my crawfish had eggs but nothing that stopped me from coming back because the sauce is delicious and usually I had a good experience. However I went yesterday, knew something was wrong when I got to the last cluster but my first cluster tasted fine so I discarded the cluster & went home. Within an hour I was immediately one of the sickest I’ve ever been. I got seafood poising. Wasn’t gonna leave a review but when I called to inform them to check the rest of their food so no other customers experienced the absolute hell I went through, I was dismissed. “ I ate the crab legs this morning too and I’m fine so I don’t know why You’re sick nobody else is” etc. Tried so hard to convince me it wasn’t from there but it was all I ate. I informed them I did not care for a refund free meal anything I simply wanted to make sure it happened to nobody else. I’m from Florida I’m a regular seafood eater and this ruined it for me for a very long time. I knew something was up when I got to my 2nd (last) cluster and it was VERY FISHY. I’m not the type to complain but the way I was dismissed when I called feeling like I was on my death bed has really bugged me. Especially when I was only trying to make sure it didn’t happen to others. I am reporting it to the health department and I want everyone to be careful and trust there gut because they will tell...
