The food is almost always good. I love every hot sub they make and the bread is like a piece of warm carbohydrate heaven. The fries with salt and malt vinegar are county fair worthy at a better price. The service is usually slow, but very good.I don't mind waiting because I watch them make it fresh and I know that takes time. This particular time there was no one waiting when I got there which has never happened. There were 4 employees up front which is at least 1 more than I usually see. As soon as I walked in I turned to look at the menu board far from the register to make it very obvious that I wasn't ready to order so that no one felt rushed to get to me. A younger guy maybe 25 or 26 and a bit unkempt steps up to the register and without even looking at me and staring straight at the ground started saying something literally out of the side of his mouth. I assumed he couldn't be attempting to address me and continued to look at the menu board. He then raises his voice and looks at me and says to me " Sir..I said can I get a name " but in a tone that just said " Sir I hope you choke on whatever you order and wreck on the way home " š¤£š ..I then proceeded to try to place an order and he cut me off at every sentence. It was like it was a contest that he was having with himself to see if he could think of something to ask me before I finished each sentence. Anyway..he won that contest and I moved to the end to pay. The girl didn't know how to take process my Google Pay on her end. Another girl finally came over and processed it. I sat down and started looking on my phone as I usually do til they call my name. Since I ordered 2 grilled sandwiches I figured it would be 5 or 6 minutes because like I saulid they make everything to order. Maybe 45 seconds later she called my name. Anyway the food was about as good as I expected it to be after getting it so fast. I must say though this is not my usual experience at this location. Will definitely give them...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI just went through the Penn Station on Tusc and had one of THE WORST food experiences of my life. I am a serv safe certified manager in the area, and went through Penn Station on Sunday 3/13/16 at 7:15pm. There was only one man running the entire line even though there were multiple people waiting for food. The young man had a goatee and was pleasant and was working hard. However, directly after I placed my order 4 more people walked in and prepared to order. The young man called back to the kitchen and said, "We're going to need 6 more loaf's of bread."
He was greeted with a yell back of, "Are you joking or are you serious." After that a woman named Brenda appeared from the kitchen to "help" the young man making sandwiches. Both the young man and Brenda were NOT wearing gloves, and made the subs for the people waiting in front of me. When those subs were finished, Brenda called my name to cash me out. I presented her with a coupon for a "buy one get one free any sized sub" coupon for my order, which she refused to fill. After arguing with her for a minute, I gave up and told her to just cash me out. After she handed me my card back I told her, "make sure both of you are wearing gloves when you make my food."
She then yelled out, in plain view of the entire restaurant, " Frank -- Gloves". The young man then put gloves on, but the woman named "Brenda" did not. She finished making the subs for my order without gloves, and was very rude to me as I left the restaurant. I am appalled at the customer service provided by Brenda, and the blatant disregard for the OSHA regulations and the Serv-Safe standards for selling food in the state of Ohio. I WILL be filing a complaint on Brenda and I hope anyone who reads this review will refrain from purchasing food at...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAfter bragging and telling a friend how delicious this place was the fresh cut fries and the thick meat on the sandwiches in the homemade lemonade! What a horrible experience we got there she got the Italian combo medium sized up which she was charged appropriately for $9.49 I ordered the sausage 8 in combo but did not get the special deal I was charged individually $6.59, a dollar 20 for the small fry, and 1 dollar 89 for my soft drink! The order was to go so as I went out to the car as my friend is unable to walk and go into the store when we pulled out the food to eat I was thoroughly embarrassed and she looked at me and said why would you eat here? I agree, to my you disappointment my small cup of fries were all little tiny pieces broken up with a few medium-sized fries in it that were on the bottom sitting for a while it seemed. Where she upgraded to a medium fry they were dark seem like they sat there for a while and we had seen just a huge line go through. I paid $21.51 for something that we did not even eat yes we ate some of it but it wasn't worth the rest. I will never visit a Penn Station again nor will my friend ever recommend it to any of her friends again as it was horrible. I've never had anything but good experiences there and it either was the employees did not know the portion amounts and did not care about freshness or the store is going downhill and cutting back on costs either way you lost my business and I do travel a lot and will not be able to recommend...
