Muggswigz is hands down my favorite coffee shop on planet earth. The quality is is not comparable to any other coffee shop in our area. While I frequent their other location in Jackson, this is the "original" and I used to frequent it near weekly.
My favorite part about it is just the aesthetic. It's an old building and they took full advantage of that to build a very rustic, yet homey feel. Light music plays while the smell of coffee and fresh baked bakery items fill the air. Has huge windows overlooking the road and they light the building with a calming dim light. It's really something special.
Nearly everything (to my knowledge) here is home made. The syrups, bakery items, coffee beans roasted in-house, whipped cream...it's almost never ending. Every since thing is delicious. My go tos vary, but you cannot go wrong with anything caramel and a peanut butter morsi. If you're really lucky...they'll have "Mocha Brownies". Combine that with a black fresh brewed coffee and you're set. If i'm really feeling crazy, i'll get their specialty coffee the "Fuzzywig". If you love flavored coffee drinks, you can't go wrong with it.
Another huge designation i have to point out...their workers are real trained baristas. This is no Starbucks, these folks know their stuff and they know how to do it right. Espresso shots are carefully crafted, coffee is respectfully roasted, everything is brewed to spec. Let me tell you, it makes a difference.
I also frequently purchase their fresh roasted beans, Fairfire has been my go to for close to 10 years now? I make it every morning in my french press at home. People at work always tell me how good my coffee smells...and they're not wrong!
If you're in the Canton area, don't skip out on Muggswigz. It's not the cheapest but YOU ARE GETTING WHAT YOU PAY FOR. I can't recommend them enough if you enjoy coffee. I've been a customer for close to 12 years now and I have no intention...
Read moreI LOVE MUGGSWIGZ even though they discontinued my favorite beverage offering a decade ago they are still always so kind and capable of re-creating the magic that was the Purple-Picker-Upper.
The establishment is cozy and welcoming. A communal shelf has reading materials for if you stumble on in with nothing to do as well as some board/party games to enjoy when coming with friends.
Prices are reasonable for the quality of the product but just the teensiest bit more than I can afford to patron regularly; keeping it a wonderful 'treat yo'self' option.
It is on the safe side of the border at which Canton proper becomes dilapidated and unsafe. Just don't go east of walnut after dark.
Seedy business owners down there are known to steal hubcaps for scratch.
They also operate a secondary (smaller) establishment on Fulton in...
Read moreI love coffee. Not that mechanical, pop-concoction that gen Z calls coffee. Just light or medium roast, freshly roasted, and freshly ground. That is exactly what you can get here. They have tea and other coffees as well but I didn’t try those.
The atmosphere is awesome! A recent college grad was interviewing for a job at a local company at one table. At another, two young married friends were meeting for a chat and telling stories about their husbands. A single mom was playing with her kid. A great mix of activity.
The shopping area was loaded with plenty of options for mugs, tumblers, tshirts, coffee beans, and loose tea.
For my coffee, they had a large selection of creamers, heavy creams, half and half, and milk. They also had a selection of sweeteners both natural and man made.
If I am ever back in Canton,...
