We love this local establishment for drinks and meeting new people, which is exactly what we did tonight. This place is overlooked and often passed by. Thank you Trevor for keeping up with us and our rambling. It was a great outing.
Good days/ bad day.
I have never been so motivated to post a review after a good or bad review as I am tonight. This is about an afternoon out today at Chicago Pizza at 1341 SE 47th Terrace Cape Coral. Let me begin by saying this has nothing to do about the establishment, it is a fantastic place. This has everything to do with today’s experience, and Erica, the bartender. We walked in at 1615 to an empty bar (for the most). There were two of our friends already there and we joined them. Without going into detail, we discussed this bartender’s lack of keeping track of what was going on at the bar. Multiple times, we had to get her attention to get another beverage. At 1750, we asked for another round (which are 2 for 1, which she leaves a shot glass in front of each of us and goes and gets the beers). A half hour later, we asked to close out and get our last beers. She took the card, and the glasses and came back with the closed bill. I reminded her that we were owed two beers and she replied with, “Okay, I will trust you this time”. When she returned with the beers, I said, “never question my integrity about things like this, I am keep track of these things”. When she took the card and ran it, she brought the closeout back and addressed me with, “never talk to me like that again”, and walked off. I was going to let it go, but gave her a tip on the bill and wrote a note on the back of it, which was remaindering her that this is a customer based business. Without looking at it, she grabbed it, crumpled it up, and threw it in the trash can on that side of the bar. I was irritated, but was letting it go as we were done and getting ready to leave and that would have been it, had it not been for the group of three that sat down next to us that were complaining about her not even giving them acknowledgment. I said to them, “good luck on that, she has no situational awareness about things at the bar”. This is what brings me to why I even post this very negative review about an individual at an establishment that we love. She saw me talking to the group and she told the, “don’t listen to him, he’s had too much to drink”. And I responded, “well then, I guess I was over-served despite you terrible service”. I never like to post these type of reviews, but then, I do not like being disrespected.
Updated update. We have friends their right now that will not be served by Erica and can not get descent service because of this ongoing problem with one individual, just one individual that thinks she controls the issue and the situation. Being discriminated against because of race, should not always be a right to raise an issue. If an employee doesn't like you for any reason, that does not give the right of the establishment to discriminate against service. This is getting to be a bigger problem then we could have ever seen. But this is far from over. TRUST ME ON THIS!
Update to a few other updates, because Google asked. We had a HH pizza and it was outstanding. We think the world of Brook and I would give her service a 5. But we only go in on the days that we know that we will get great Brook service and not the other. The manager, that knows that the numbers are slipping, should be questioned by the owner. We have also heard about snide comments by bartender and service staff made when people come in for the half off TUE pizza. But the...
Read more★☆☆☆☆ ZERO stars if I could — thanks for the au jus-soaked Cadillac and rug, Chicago Pizza! I’ve lived in Cape Coral for well over a decade, and in all that time, I’ve never felt compelled to leave a review quite like this. But when a restaurant not only serves up soggy sandwiches with a side of hot liquid disaster but also treats their customers like an inconvenience rather than, say, people who pay for their food with actual money — well, congratulations Chicago Pizza, you’ve earned this scathing one-star review. Let’s start with the crime against sandwiches: I ordered a Chicago-style Italian beef, which, if you’ve ever eaten one in Chicago (spoiler: they haven’t), you’d know comes with a side of au jus — for dipping, not dumping. Instead of placing the au jus in a sealed container like any semi-competent food establishment in the 21st century, they decided to go full caveman and wrap it in aluminum foil. Yes, aluminum foil. For hot, thin beef broth. Imagine my surprise when I picked up the order, put it carefully on the passenger seat of my Cadillac, and before I could pull out of the parking lot — au jus everywhere. Pooled in the seat, dripping into the floorboards, and yes, INTO MY SHOE. If I wanted a beef-scented insole, I would’ve ordered one on Amazon. And it didn’t end there. When I got home (still smelling like a deli dumpster), I tried to salvage what was left of the meal only to have the au jus container — which was now more of a soggy metallic suggestion — rupture completely and pour all over my living room rug. You read that right. The same rug I paid a small fortune for now smells like a stockpot. My dog won’t leave it alone. It’s basically his new home now. Naturally, I called the restaurant, hoping for some semblance of accountability or maybe — just maybe — an apology. Instead, I was treated to the customer service stylings of one "Sky," the manager, who, by her own admission, "didn’t really know who the manager was." That was the first red flag. The second? Her "resolution" to my broth-soaked luxury car and ruined rug: "Come back in the rain and we’ll give you more au jus." Ma’am. I didn’t call for a refill. I called because your food handling practices turned my commute into a liquid beef obstacle course. But sure, let me just toss on my galoshes, wade through a thunderstorm, and risk further meat juice trauma for a 4oz container of what I assume is the same half-assed broth that started this mess. Totally reasonable. She promised that “Bob the owner” would call me back. Spoiler alert: he never did. Must be real busy perfecting the art of broth-leak technology and employee indifference. So here we are. A ruined dinner, a Cadillac that smells like a butcher shop, a permanently stained rug, and a soggy sock — all courtesy of Chicago Pizza, where customer satisfaction is about as sealed as their takeout containers. You’d have better luck getting a handshake from a wild raccoon than a refund or a genuine apology here. To sum it up: If you're in Cape Coral and you're craving Chicago-style anything, do yourself a favor — keep driving. Actually, drive all the way to Chicago if you have to. You'll get better food, better service, and significantly less chance of hot meat juice ruining your day. As for me? I’ll be telling every friend, family member, neighbor, mail carrier, and passing tourist: stay far, far away from this place. You’re better off microwaving a frozen sandwich and pouring some broth into your shoe yourself — at least then you’ll know...
Read moreI will not go back and forth with you so you can keep deleting your comments to my review and updating them with whatever story you want to portray. I will have to call my bank and dispute the charges as I was not cursing at anyone nor yourself or refunded as the charge is still showing on my account. Again I have proof of everything as I have cameras and a bank account statement. Hopefully you are setting up your customer service training rather than lying to make yourself look like you are a good business.
Updated after speaking to Ryan per the owner. Tells me they can’t refund me for the food I didn’t receive as it’s illegal until I said I should be able to bring my card in to get a refund. Yes he offered a credit however that still does not fix that fact that I’m paying for food I never received. Insinuated I was lying as there were witnesses. He called me crazy because he wouldn’t allow me to speak before he spoke. I have cameras to prove I never received my order. I do not want the credit as the way all of the employees at this company treat people I do not trust they wouldn’t do something to my food. He told me to go ahead and leave another review. The owners should be ashamed of themselves for the way they allow their business to be ran. I want my $60 back for the food I never received and I will NEVER bring my business or recommend another person to this terrible facility. Terrible that you steal from people as that is what is happening in this case. I paid for something I did not receive but your employees are always right! I have witnesses too! It would be nice if the owners would call rather than their terrible employees they should clearly do background checks on and give proper training!
This place is the absolute most disgusting service you will ever encounter. I ordered a pizza over an hour and a half ago. I called and the manager got on the phone ignored me when I asked him his name three times then finally said his name was GOD and hung up on me. Refused to give me a refund or call his driver to see where he was. Told me the promise time was for an hour and when I told him it was going on 40 minutes over the hour he said what do I want. I would not recommend eating here ever unless you want treated like trash and either get cold food or no food at all as I’m still waiting! How sad because I’m from Chicago and never would anyone from there treat someone the way this place treats paying customers! I am left with 2 hungry children that are now eating dinner after 8:20 PM because I still have not...
