From the moment we walked into this charming, family-owned Italian restaurant, we felt the warm, welcoming atmosphere that only a truly passionate team can create. We chose to sit at the bar, and it turned out to be the perfect decision. The bartender was not only incredibly kind and attentive but also impressively knowledgeable about their wine and beer selections. After a brief chat about our tastes, he recommended drinks that matched our preferences spot-on — a small but memorable touch that elevated the entire experience. We started with two appetizers: the truffle fries and the meatballs wrapped in pizza dough, served with a rich, flavorful sauce. Both were beyond excellent. The fries were crispy, aromatic, and perfectly seasoned — you could taste the quality of the truffle oil. But the true standout was the meatball dish. The tender, savory meatballs wrapped in warm, golden pizza dough were a brilliant twist on a classic. Paired with the sauce, they were absolutely addictive. It’s clear that this restaurant takes pride in what they do — from the thoughtful drink pairings to the elevated comfort food. We'll absolutely be back to explore more of the menu. A must-visit spot if you’re looking for authentic Italian hospitality and...
Read moreHaving read a news article that the chef at Echo was locally well-known and admired, I arranged to go there with a group of friends. On Saturday, August 30 I called the restaurant to inquire about a dinner reservation for the next evening (a Sunday). The man who answered said they don't take reservations and that it was first-come-first-served. He then added that "we open at 5" and hung up.
So I arranged for our group of six to meet at the restaurant on Sunday at 6:30. Two of us are in Fort Myers, and the other four drove up from Naples. When we got there we found the restaurant locked with a sign on the door saying they were opened from Monday through Saturday. (As I had gotten the phone number from Siri on my iPhone I did not see their website with that information.)
Why did the guy on the phone not tell me they were closed on the day for which I was requesting a...
Read moreIt’s back. I’d been dreaming about this lasagna for years. Searching. Trying to find something comparable. Local. Miami. But no success.
Then I saw the Facebook post. The restaurant formerly known as Yabo is reopening as Echo.
And yes, they had the lasagna. And yes, it’s as good as ever.
The only thing that changed is the serving dish.
Many of the other favorites are still on the menu. The gnocchi is still amazing (upgraded from an app to an entree). The Gorgonzola salad. And some new items too.
My daughter tried and loved the Echo Fries. Veal demi drizzled over the top. Need I say more?
Still holds on to the rock and roll vibes. Great service. Small place, but that makes it feel like discovering a band no one else knows about yet, and you kind of want to keep it that way.
Great reboot. And still my favorite...
