Spectrum Record Lounge — Restaurant in Cape Girardeau

Walking into Spectrum Record Lounge felt like I’d stumbled into a secret society meeting – minus the secret handshake. No greeting, no “welcome,” not even a glance from the staff. I started to wonder if I’d accidentally turned invisible.

As I wandered through the vinyl wonderland, hoping someone would ask if I needed help or at least tell me what this place was about, it became clear: I was as welcome as a cat at a dog show. The staff looked at me like I was interrupting their very important mission of doing absolutely nothing.

Don’t get me wrong, the place has a cool vibe, but if you’re looking for customer service, you might have better luck getting a high-five from a ghost. If you’re okay with feeling like a party crasher at a very exclusive (and silent) party, then by all means, spin your way into Spectrum...

I can't believe that anyone could write a review of this place with less than 5 star; evidently two out of 90 people did. The atmosphere is fantastic and the staff's knowledge of music is amazing. I only discovered this lounge near the end of a short visit to Southeast Missouri and I'm looking forward to spending more time there on my next visit to the area. Stumbled upon this hidden gem while walking and exploring Downtown Cape Girardeau. Amazing display of music including cassettes, vinyl records, and cd's. Their record wall was astonishing and the atmosphere is very inviting. Drinks were well worth their price and the owner was super friendly and social.
