Walking into Spectrum Record Lounge felt like Iād stumbled into a secret society meeting ā minus the secret handshake. No greeting, no āwelcome,ā not even a glance from the staff. I started to wonder if Iād accidentally turned invisible.
As I wandered through the vinyl wonderland, hoping someone would ask if I needed help or at least tell me what this place was about, it became clear: I was as welcome as a cat at a dog show. The staff looked at me like I was interrupting their very important mission of doing absolutely nothing.
Donāt get me wrong, the place has a cool vibe, but if youāre looking for customer service, you might have better luck getting a high-five from a ghost. If youāre okay with feeling like a party crasher at a very exclusive (and silent) party, then by all means, spin your way into Spectrum...

The atmosphere is fantastic and the staff's knowledge of music is amazing. I only discovered this lounge near the end of a short visit to Southeast Missouri and I'm looking forward to spending more time there on my next visit to the area.
