I’m not leaving a review for the food but only my experience. My taco pizza and smothered fries never arrived soooo I’d like to think it would have been delicious but I can’t say for sure.
We were staying at a local historic hotel for vacation and wanted a late second dinner if you will. We placed an order online for delivery at 10:30 on a Sunday because most other places were closed and Blue Moon says their hours are 11am to midnight. We had the confirmation email at 10:32 that our order was accepted.
We got an email at 11:10 stating that our card was charged so we assumed that our food was on the way since typically you aren’t billed until your food is made and on its way.
At 11:30 we got another email saying that unfortunately the establishment was closed and our order was cancelled.
So I proceeded to call Blue Moon and a man picked up the phone and then hung up on me. I called again and then possibly the same man answered and I explained that we had placed an order an hour ago, that’s an hour and a half well before closing, and that we sat and waited for it to come only to get an email telling us that they were closed.
He apologized and said they were closed even though they should be open for another half an hour. Now I work in the food industry and can’t imagine they would close at 10:30 or earlier and still be there at 11:30, I heard multiple people in the background leading me to think they were still actually open.
My conclusion is that they were open but didn’t want to make our order and deliver it because ya know that’s just easier. Had I known I would have been lied to I would have walked down myself and ordered it in person then I wouldn’t have gotten the cold shoulder.
And here I am writing this review sad and hungry. Thanks for...
Read moreMy husband and I visited this place one evening of our vacation, as we were looking for just a casual dinner in between nights of upscale seafood. The pizza selection is impressive, and I had a hard time deciding because they all looked so good. We went with one of the white pizzas (Florentine), and it was excellent: satisfactorily cooked, with plenty of cheese and toppings. I have a serious gluten allergy, and was very pleased that the pizza was sent out uncut, with a clean pizza slicer, so we could be sure it was not contaminated during slicing. The size (12") is great for a gluten-free pizza. My husband and I were barely able to finish one pizza between us. We also shared a house salad, one of the two simple salads on the menu that were cheaper than the other salads, so I assumed it was probably a fairly small side salad. I was pleasantly surprised at the generous portion of that as well. There were plenty of fresh carrots, tomatoes, red onions, and olives in it. Finally, our service was OUTSTANDING; we had a very competent waitress who checked in often and clearly was extremely capable of taking care of a dining room on her own. This is a place we would visit again without hesitation. Cape May needs more affordable and casual eateries with great...
