3.5 days ago I bought a volleyball and sunglasses here. The stitching on the volleyball is all coming out after some light use. I brought it back to exchange it-with my receipt. I never thought this would be an issue. Small stores usually have great customer service. I was polite, calm while I explained the issue and showed my receipt. The ball has no marks or wear. A young woman was the only one working. Over text messages to the employee, the manager? Owner? Said the best she could do was sell me a new one at a discount (20% was the first offer which after photos, she switched to 50%). She actually left her very kind, young employee to handle the whole thing. She wouldn’t speak to me. I felt terrible for the young woman, said I completely got that it isn’t her fault but it seems like I was sold a damaged product, and a store should stand by their merchandise. It’s barely used. She said she was sorry but there was nothing she could do. I asked if I could talk to her manager -I got that this wasn’t her call. Maybe if she saw the ball in person and saw that it has zero wear, she would understand? The young woman said no. The manager did call while I was there (it was obvious from the side of the convo I heard) but didn’t offer to speak to me. I didn’t press the issue because that isn’t fair to the young woman. Super disappointed for the poor customer service. We have shopped there many times over the years. But sadly we won’t any more. The problem is that if a store won’t stand by their small fun items, what happens when you buy something more significant and it also breaks after 3 days? If you can’t go in and have a polite conversation with the owner/manager how can you trust their business practices? The whole thing was a bummer on...
