For my money, by the pie or the slice, best pizza in Santa Cruz County! Clever pizza combinations, generous toppings, super dough--all for the price of a ho-hum chain pizza. Personal favorites are the Corralitos Market (sausage, apples, bacon & gorgonzola) & Mediterranean (goat cheese, red bell peppers, artichoke hearts, red onion & olives), though my now-converted BFF & her hubby swear by Hector's All Meat (6 meats!). Some obligatory salads (or so I'm told). Odd & slim beverage selection, but beer & wine are available. The small dining room is cramped, cluttered & noisy with multiple screens all on. (For what it's worth, the restroom opening directly off the dining room is clean & maintained.) But it's about the pizza, so order ahead & eat at the beach, in a park or watching the games at home! After a couple dozen take-out calls, Pizza 1 has given me precisely what I ordered every time! And if they say your order will be ready in 20 minutes, they mean 20 minutes. If you're looking for a romantic pizza joint, dainty Michelin-star designer pizza or a raucous sports bar, keep looking. But if you're looking for a serious, hearty, delish pizza or even just a quick slice, you're looking...
Read moreUpdate!! Was so excited to see Pizza my Heart took over this location, PmH is our favorite. Came in at 8, they said they were open until 9. Ordered our usual, Cowell's combo. We were told we could not sit inside, they closed the inside seating early. We sat outside in the cold. The pizza came and it was a 1/2 cooked soggy dog! Crust, well there was no crust just soggy mush. The toppings were raw as in uncooked. Could not eat it, literally threw away $38 for a 14" disgusting pizza. Do not come to this location! Oh, they also ran out of water. 🤡 show.
Original post Was looking forward to this sourdough crust but it was just meh. Nothing I couldn't do at home. Ok sauce and cheese and toppings. Workers were cool and the place was clean. Huge bathroom. Typical $5 local...
Read moreI ordered a #1 combo with pepperoni, red onions, green peppers, mushrooms, Italian sausage and fresh tomatoes but when I brought the pizza back to my motel room, the restaurant had given me the #2 vegetarian combo with red onions, green peppers, zucchini, mushrooms, black olives, herbs and fresh tomatoes. A little annoying but I like veggie pizzas and didn’t want to drive back for the correct pizza so ate what I got. It was unfortunately a bit bland with a too-thick crust. Maybe a little salt on the veggies or roasting them or a sprinkle of Parmesan would have helped. But the...
