Sandcastle Cafe — Restaurant in Capitola

The owner yelled at my 3-year old in a very loud voice and that's enough reason why I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

We were a group of 3 families. We walked into this cafe because one of the kids wanted to go to the restroom. The cafe was completely empty. One of the moms with her kid asked the owner if they could use the restroom. The owner said "the bathroom is for customers only". Although this rubbed us off the wrong way, we didn't say anything because this is a common policy. When she saw the kid going in, she said "keep it clean".

Afterwards we all got froyos and were having a good time. My son started playing with one of the chairs and she started yelling at him in a very loud voice right as I was talking to him.

As I was leaving, all I told her was that she didn't have to yell at my son. She turned it into a huge argument in front of the kids and asked me to leave.

She's one rude woman with no sense of how to talk to kids or her customers. I would give this place 0...

The two young ladies working there seem to have no idea what a job is. They ignore you when you enter, get your order wrong, give you the wrong change (shorting themselves by over 5 dollars), take your money and then proceed to slowly wash every dish , forgetting to even start your coffee order. Keep in mind this is when you are the only customer in the store. Save yourselves. If I were the owner I would want to know how rude and clueless...

A nice little cafe that was cutely decorated. Owner was very sweet and friendly. I got the mango smoothie + boba and my mom and brother got a tropical smoothie and black milk tea with boba. All were solid options but the mango smoothie was the winner! The smoothies were made with fresh fruit and the tapioca was well made and a good pairing. Especially, for boba in Santa Cruz/Capitola hard to ask for...
