Located at The Beacon La Costa, Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams brings its famous flavors to this vibrant and upscale plaza, attracting crowds—especially families and sweet-tooth lovers.

The store’s modern interior features wooden seating, warm yellow lighting, and a clean, inviting vibe that makes indulging in ice cream feel a little extra special. The plaza lights at night add a touch of charm, turning even a quick dessert stop into a cozy outing.

Jeni’s offers a wide selection of classic and seasonal flavors. The staff were incredibly friendly and patient with my flavor sampling. The fruit-based scoops leaned on the tart side, while the Honey Vanilla Bean, Salty Caramel, and Brown Butter Almond Brittle stood out for their smooth texture and rich taste.

I tried three scoops in a waffle bowl, but found the bowl itself overly sweet, especially paired with already sweetened ice cream. That said, the flavor quality and presentation were impressive. The only caveat: it’s a bit pricey at $11 for a three-scoop combo, but worth it for a special treat.

Parking is easy, with plenty of spots close by, and there's bench seating outside that’s great for relaxing—plus it seems pet-friendly too, making it a great spot for a walk-and-snack experience.

You know what? Our Review Team can actually feel your judginess right now, so slow your roll, ok? Yes, it’s true that they just polished off a quality milkshake and then literally walked next door to “sample” some ice cream. What you don’t know is that there’s a perfectly logical, responsible, and defensible reason for doing so (not true). Now when we say that we can totally account for our recent actions, we don’t mean like…today or anything. We were more thinking like…next week. I mean, will our publicist @j_alexandra89 be working on this first thing Monday morning? Uh, probably? (We honestly have no idea. 🤷‍♂️)

But enough of that and on to far more important things. @jenisicecreams is ridiculously great! The “Brambleberry Crisp” flavor should have a warning attached: “Order this flavor plus any others and you’ll soon regret that you thought it needed a posse to satisfy you. It doesn’t.” The offerings here are certainly “waffle cone worthy” so don’t be a cheapskate and cough up the extra buck fifty, would ‘ya?

We keep saying that we need to develop some kinda tiered rating system here at Henry’s Take that includes a “Get Your Butt Down Here” designation for places such as this one.

if you're looking for an outstanding ice cream/ ice cream experience, drive straight here. my boyfriend and I came in to share the ice cream flight. it's a pre-set flight, but you can switch out for other flavors you'd like to try. I actually appreciated the pre-set flight as I was a little overwhelmed/overexcited about which flavors I wanted so it was nice to have it fixed. typically I enjoy making my own choices but this was a blessing in disguise. the ice cream is beyond good, Jeni is an artist, and if you search her on YouTube and hear her speak you'll have much respect for her and her craft. 10/10. (if you're going to give a poor review because of the prices- just don't, you'll look silly. this is craft ice cream made with the best ingredients and carefully farmed cow milk. dont waste your time, just go...
