My family and I recently visited the following McDonalds in Carlsbad. Unfortunately, we would have to say that this was probably the worst McDonalds experience we have had. I normally don’t take the time to write these sort of things, but the overall experience was so poor. The line to order was quite long (only one cashier) working despite it being slightly after the typical lunch hour. As we were waiting in line, customer after customer (dine-in and drive-through would approach the counter requesting fixes to their order (single quarter pounders in double quarter boxes, when doubles were ordered). After ordering (chicken club, new bacon quarter pounder, kids-meal), I filled our drinks. However, several of the beverages were out of syrup. I did not mention this to the working staff, as it seemed they were clearly having difficulty coping the current customers; taking someone off food prep couldn't possibly have helped. When our food did arrive, the chicken club was actually a quarter pounder in a club box. My bacon quarter pounder did not have any bacon. The French fries were old and stale. Since everyone was returning incorrect orders, it took quite some time to get the food we actually ordered. The counter staff was trying to keep up with the new customers and all those customers returning food, but was not successful. Even when our orders were corrected the overall food quality of the entrees were the same as the French fries, old and stale. Customers at the tables all around us were also commenting on this being one of the worst McDonalds experiences. I am not sure what could have led to such string of order failures (I am a former McDonalds employee). It was basically like the food prep people had absolutely no idea what they were making. We certainly won't be...
Read moreTuesday 05/21/13 Showed up 20 minutes to closing time. Placed our order and waited in line behind a few other cars. Within a few minutes other cars pulled up behind us and may have also placed their order. We wait for about 20 minutes, then without warning all the McDonalds business lights turned off and cars started to angrily pull away. We said to ourselves that maybe McDonalds ran out of whatever those cars ordered. So we pull forward expecting our chicken wraps to be made since we had already waited 20 minutes. When we situated ourselves in front of the window a McDonalds employee says "Sorry, we are closed" We say, we already placed our order and waited 20 minutes so how are you closed when I havent even received my order that we already placed? And we asked to speak to supervisor. A clearly distraught supervisor came over to the door. Long story short, says that McDonalds is now closed. We explain that our order was taken and we waited 20 minutes for nothing. Her reply was that they had many employees quit in the past week and now have decided to close the drive-thru early because they all had worked to much and were very tired. Then why did they take our order?
They had all week to figure out what to do with a short-handed staff. WE HAVE VIDEO of the entire exchange. It will be sent to corporate. Thanks for nothing. This is not the "Golden Archs" it more like the liquid brown toilet bowl. Service like that and closing at will isnt going...
Read moreWorst McD ever! Don't waste your time, drive across town to the other McD. I go to McD 2-3 times per week for my kid and friends he has over. The fries at this McD are always soggy, luke warm, and never full. You order a large and you get medium, medium-small, etc. I had enough today when I went and got more soggy, lukewarm fries my kid would refuse to eat and asked the girl if they ever made fresh fries. I was told they just came out of the fryer. I have been around a while now, gone to McD in most every state in these United States, and lived in 7 states, of all which I have gone 2-3 times per week to McD. I know what the temperature should be and I know when you hold one up it shouldn't be limp. I was not going to argue with the girl at the drive through so I called the manager explained the situation and she told me exactly the same thing. She wanted to argue and continued to interrupt me. If these fries just came out of the fryer, these people need training on how to cook them and some training on customer service might be helpful as well. Don't...
