PizzAmore Italian Kitchen — Restaurant in Carlstadt

So glad we opted for this tiny hidden gem! You couldn’t find more down home , authentic Italian cuisine if you hoped a plane. Save the trip and travel to Carlstadt in NJ. no fuss, no muss, like it’s fresh out of Grandma’s kitchen. What you’d expect of her Sunday sauce topped the Sicilian style “Grandma” pizza, complete with fresh mozzarella, torn fresh basil leaves and a perfect crisp & tasty crust.

We couldn’t stop without trying owner Johnny’s award winning “best meatball” which did not disappoint. Wonderfully accompanied by a touch of fresh ricotta, we had to take a couple to go home for mom.

Johnny and friends entertained us with some friendly chit chat; it felt like you were stopping at a cousin’s for Sunday dinner. We’ll be back, and likely with a bigger cooler to take advantage of a few extras to travel back upstate with us. We look forward to our next...

Pizzamore is hands down the best pizza place we’ve had in this part of town in a LONG time. Their pizza is not only inexpensive, even for speciality pies and toppings, but it’s absolutely delicious. They have sandwiches and cheesesteaks etc for only $7 and change that include fries and are generous with their portions even at that price.

I had a party recently and ordered 2 pies and a dozen mini pizzas, and the mini pizzas were an even bigger hit than the regular pizza.

Everything I’ve gotten here is great, their social media presence is awesome, aesthetically pleasing and unique, and they’re always friendly. I hope they continue to have success forever and ever.

My husband and I was craving some good authentic pizza and let me just say this place DID NOT disappoint. The owner and everyone that worked there was super nice which made me love it even more. I wanted my husband who’s from Baltimore to try zeppole, he’s never heard of it and for me, growing up in Bk and Staten Island it was one of my childhood favs. They didn’t have any made when I asked about it which was fine but while I was in conversation with their delivery driver the owner came out with some. He actually went out of his way to make me some zeppole, and it was delicious and extremely nostalgic for me. He has no idea how that made my day and brought back so many memories to me.
