I have been dealing with Jim @ Rutherford Appliance for a few years now and let me tell you , they offer the best customer service. I have had to purchase at least 4-5 air conditioners through the years and this is the place to go. They will come to your house, measure it and tell you what size unit you need. They are quick on delivering and carting away the old AC. The first time I came into Rutherford Appliance it was the hottest day in July and my elderly mothers AC broke. She insisted on my taking her to our local Lowes, but I was hesitant because it had to be installed into a window and be at least 10K BTU. That was way to big for me to lift and install. We were there first thing when it opened and she insisted on a particular expensive brand. He told her she would only be paying for the name and she could get another brand that was equally as good and cheaper. Of course when I asked for same day delivery as it was so hot and my mom would not come to my place because she would not leave her cat, he immediately squeezed her in for that day but advised it would be very late in the afternoon as the guys were already out on the deliveries and they would be there later. He sent them at 12:30. Flash forward to this year. Both of my Ac’s broke within 1 day in the beginning of a heatwave. Off to Rutherford Appliance I went. I needed 1 for the bedroom ASAP and delivery was booked for the next 2 days. I offered to pay extra if the guys could come after hours for the bedroom Ac, but understood if they could not. He called them and they said yes they would come after hours but they showed up at 3:00. I have sent my friends and family here and every one of them was treated with the best customer service. He will not take advantage of you and will work with you. You will NEVER EVER find this service in a big box store. His prices are very reasonable and he is an example of why we should all shop mom...

I had a terrific experience purchasing a new microwave from Rutherford Appliance, and I never even set foot inside the store.

My over the stove microwave broke down, so I asked the members of my condo-board if they new any places that did sales and installation. They recommended Rutherford Appliance.

I got the model number & dimensions of the old microwave and emailed Jim through the website. Jim got back to me right away with recommendations for a similar microwave that would fit in the space allotted.

I did a little research and Jim had quoted me a price that beat all the big box stores, and a quote for delivery and installation that beat the price of just delivery by the big guys.

Daryl came over the next day to install the new unit. It’s SUCH a pleasure to have an EXPERT do your installation. Unlike my experiences with the big box stores (or Sears which was a nightmare) Daryl knew what he was doing. 20 minutes later, I had a new microwave!

I called the store and paid by card. Boom. Done.

I have always preferred buying appliances from local stores, for years and years we purchased from Parsons Appliances in Kearny, and after Mr. Parson passed, we followed his daughter Barbara and her husband John....until they retired.

It isn't that I didn't ever try a big box store, but you REALLY have to do your homework, because finding really knowledgeable people are few and far between! Also, EVERYTHING costs extra, and you can wait for weeks!

My plumber, Carl Carbone, recommended Rutherford Appliance.

So far I've purchased a dishwasher (for my residence) and a refrigerator for my rental unit from Rutherford Appliance. Their sales people are very knowledgeable, they quote great prices, they do not charge for removal of the old A N D employ GREAT delivery/installation guys.
